“Today marks 43 days since the flood—43 days without emergency aid from the state.”

As communities struggled to recover from a devastating flood that killed 138 people, Trump publicly demanded that Texas lawmakers redraw congressional maps to carve out five additional US House seats for the GOP.
Texas flood relief took a back seat to Trump's redistricting demands: “It’s a travesty"
Republican legislators are "trying to stick a band-aid on the issue."

Speaker Johnson should call Congress back into session immediately so we can vote tomorrow or Friday for a four-week extension and avoid a Government shutdown.

I have joined with House Democrats to replace that bill with a four-week funding extension that stops harmful cuts and gives Congress sufficient time to reach a bipartisan funding bill that protects veterans, seniors, and those who rely on Medicaid.

Wow. Watch this from Zohran Mamdani. It looks like the exact "fight" and "conviction" people are hopelessly asking for from the people in charge of the Democratic party:

House Dems were united against the disastrous Republican funding bill.

And we’re united and ready to come back today, tomorrow, or Friday (before funding expires) to pass a four-week funding bill to keep the government open.

It’s simple. All Republicans need to do is show up to get this done.

The rich fuck around, we have have to find out.
The world’s richest man is cheering on Trump tonight as guts essential services, slashes education, and hands even more wealth to the 1%.

Billionaires win. Working people lose.

Very soon (within weeks) our nations wildlife refuges will be closed. We are at the precipice and I'm not sure this dire message is getting out there in an impactful way. I'm sure all other public land managers (NPS,BLM,USFS,etc) were given the same directive, so we're close to losing these lands.
