Which is why a lot of us felt loyalty toward him. It wasn’t b/c we’re Ange cultists. It’s b/c his football felt like what Spurs should be. He said you may beat us on Sunday but we will be who we are regardless. We don’t need anyone else to validate us. That makes me want to show up and sing.

We also had his work at saints to point to. Nothing at Brentford was evidence of managing an elite club. Poch realised he had to go let Poch be Poch when things were rough. Frank had to show he can do something completely different because his Brentford ideas would never level up to us.

Putting aside "he won't" thoughts, starting with Xavi, Gray and Bergvall still seems the most coherent centre mid we've got. I thought Bentancur had a stinker today, Pailinha can't pass, Sarr is off form.

IMHO for the great majority of games at least 2, probably 3 of Grey, Bergvall, Sarr and Xavi should be starting.

Basically for me it's existential. Are we Spurs, or are we just another club and identity means nothing? People are telling me that long throws are necessary because everyone else is doing them, when all it says to me us that coaches are either unimaginative or lazy.
