Happy #WalkRolltoSchoolDay! Thanks to everyone for their support at Lincoln Park this morning, along with our Safe Routes to School team. It’s great to see families embracing safe and active ways to get to school. Especially those trying for the first time!

As the Nation’s Capital, DC has always partnered with the federal government to drive down crime.

But sending masked agents to take people off our streets, flooding our neighborhoods with armed soldiers, and attempting a federal takeover of MPD — these are not lasting solutions for making DC safer.

"sometimes people are turned away because supplies of the reformulated shots haven't arrived yet. Sometimes it's because they didn't meet the new criteria. Or they're told they can get a shot if they get a Rx first, only to be inexplicably rejected anyway when they return with a dr's order"

Though the FDA narrowed criteria for the shots, many people still want them, to avoid illness and protect vulnerable family members. Some are turned down at the pharmacy or have to jump through hoops.

The House member who wants to let Trump appoint D.C.'s attorney general (currently elected by residents) mistakenly says it was the city's AG who didn't prosecute two-thirds of arrests in D.C. That was actually the U.S. Attorney for D.C. – who *is* appointed by the president.

They don't know what they don't know, yet US House members continue to insist on taking away from DC residents, the right to self govern. #FreeDC

The bills being discussed in the U.S. House Oversight Committee today would result in real material harm to DC communities. Republicans don’t have enough support to pass them without help.

We call on every single Democrat in both chambers to reject these bills and all attacks on DC's power.

New: Bowser's attempts to play nice with Trump have critics searching for a challenger in next year's mayoral race who can channel DC's anger over the feds' intervention.

Many are urging W4 CM Janeese Lewis George to jump into the race. Some unions are pushing her publicly:
