The fact that Democrats won both elections yesterday for the Georgia Public Service Commission is remarkable enough (no Democrat had won a non-federal statewide race in GA since 2006).

But both won by a margin of 63% to 37%. In Georgia.

Trump: "They're gonna make DC a state and they're gonna make Puerto Rico a state. So now they pick up two states, four senators. They're gonna pick up electoral votes. It's gonna be a very, very bad situation. Now, if we do what I'm saying, they'll most likely never obtain power."

Relieved that voters resoundingly rejected this fascist bullshit.

Angry that we still have at least another year of it, probably another three, and that we're by no means in the clear.

Livid that it all could have been avoided if we had simply not reelected the asshole who tried a coup.

Q: How comfortable are you w/Trump seeking $230m from the DOJ?

MIKE JOHNSON: Uh, I don't know the details. I just read it. I know he believes he's owed that reimbursement. What I heard is that if receives it, he's gonna consider giving it to charity. They attack him for everything. *changes topic*

Shapiro: I filed that amicus brief last night to make it very clear that the Pennsylvania National Guard is under my command.

The way the President has chosen to deploy the Guard in other states—and, in at least one case, deploy the Guard from one state into another—is extremely dangerous.

If this stuff would end up on the news it would absolutely motivate voters. Plenty of people who don't give a shit about politics would absolutely give af about this.

It's not "their" National Guard. The National Guard belongs to the States.
Hegseth: "There's no other way to create that kind of love and enthusiasm than with your leadership, sir. And it is an honor to work with Pam and Kristi in these cities across the country to make sure American citizens and law enforcement are protected with our National Guard. That's a core mission"

This is the point of the new EO: it is to make people think twice before they provide their honest evaluation of the Trump regime. You called them fascist? Well, you must be antifa. You call them authoritarian? You are inciting terrorism.
If a government tells you that you can’t call it authoritarian, it’s authoritarian.

TRUMP: Because I thought her numbers were wrong

New, from me:
Trump just fired the head of the BLS, accusing her of rigging data.
The reality is that by shooting the messenger reporting on the negative effects of his economic policies, Trump pushed America further into banana republic territory.

CARTER: How could you possibly justify the decision to terminate HIV vaccines studies?

RFK JR: We've been promising an HIV vaccine since 1984 and every year Congress pours money into it

CARTER: Because they haven't come up with one, you then cut the forward motion by getting rid of NIH dollars?

Not a care about cops pressuring witnesses to lie. No worries about wrongly sending a man to death row. Nah. This prosecutor's first instinct is to defend a bad conviction by threatening the vulnerable people who were pressured to lie -- ensuring that others in a similar position won't come forward.

Margaret Brennan is fundamentally wrong on the claim that public approval of mass deportations is "so high." It has never been above 60%, and has been below 50% in multiple recent polls. There is no world in which that counts as "so high."
BRENNAN: The public approval is so high of deportation

They launched a coup, suffered no consequences for it, won back power, and have used the power to pardon everyone involved while remaking the country through violence and intimidation. It’s just ridiculous to talk about the political violence of yelling at ICE agents within that context.

I will hold the line on this. Right-wing violence has far more support, materially, institutionally and ideologically, in the U.S. than left-wing violence. There is no both-sidesing it.
And yes, this kind of violence has support on the right, in the form of pardons, statements of support from R politicians, and legitimate organizational forms (e.g. militias) that it simply does not have on the left
