Too many Canadians take the CBC for granted. It's not perfect, but I'm watching live election coverage and the production is so calming I'm almost not bothered that conservatives seem to have flipped a seat out east. Publicly funded media is integral to both political and personal sanity.

Musk states "the fundamental weakness of Western civilization is empathy". Charles Darwin, who actually researched this stuff, showed it was empathy, specifically, that enabled humanity to flourish.

I follow French politics a lot, as many of you know. Any effort for mass layoffs of public sector employees there would create such huge strikes and marches, the level of disruption and paralysis would be biblical.

It's been stunning to watch the swiftness with which Iran's regional imperial strategy has succumbed to massive defeat. The Ayatollah starved and bankrupted the country to achieve but a couple decades of regional hegemony, and now they will have to answer to the Iranian masses.

Welp, I can't seem to change my profile photo on this app. I think social media is quietly suggesting I'm old and that it's time we part ways. I'm not mad about it.

I joined Twitter in 2009 and again in 2018 to follow Iranian protesters. What am I/we doing here, exactly?
