I put chapter one of this project up for critique in a new group on a whim and I’d say it’s going pretty well 🥹 Definitely needed this boost after a quiet few weeks in the trenches!

Alright, you've had me by the edge of my seat this entire time. I've been doing critiques for a decade and it's rare to come across something this polished and perfect.
Everything is there. The voice. The miniscule details. Tension. Stakes. Intrigue. Dialogue.

A woman named Nin was ill cursed
By forest god, Cráeb, life was worse
A magician of fame
Soundly proclaimed
He’d fix her, if she had the purse

He told here when she could find gold
Alone, she had to be bold
For help, she had none
She was being shunned
No sympathy she was consoled

A strange man she met on the road
And offered a ride, so he rode
His dagger did press
Against her thin dress
You know about those one-horse tropes

They finally got to the inn
Pretend to be married, they did
He slept on the floor
I know, what a bore
This is just the start of slow burn

This story is full of sweet spice
God falls for a mortal is nice
But this WIP
Ain’t finished, you see
You’ll just need to be patient, alright?
