The death of the premature baby born after their mother contracted measles highlights the danger of more and more people refusing vaccines.

An individual is contagious 4 days before the rash appears.

Imagine a child with measles at a daycare full of babies too young to be vaccinated.

Good morning (?) -- To our fed family: whether you’re stuck working unpaid or sidelined from lifesaving public health work, wondering if rent gets paid or a pink slip arrives courtesy of nightmare-human Russell Vought, we see you and we're here with you. 💚

Have you tried gluing shit together? I'm very into elementary school crafting right now. Felt. Rhinestones. Whatev. Michelle probably needs more Halloween decorations.
Two fat little felt owls. One is slightly derpier than the other. Both look like they were embroidered by someone who isn't very good at embroidery It's a disco bat. Technicallt, some black some bat wings glued to a miniature disco ball ornament.

Ope. Did the federal website managers not have to take Hatch Act training during onboarding?

I am grateful for the current well-founded skepticism among the public... but how in the hell will we ever earn this trust back?

“Kennedy's approval has dropped… Only 17% of those polled in the current survey said they were very confident in medical information from Kennedy. Twenty-two percent said they were somewhat confident, 11% said they were not so confident, and 46% were not confident at all.”

This does not mean it worked so you can re-up your Disney+ subscription... this means it worked so you can go after the next company on the list.

Less than a week after it was taken off the air under pressure from the Trump administration, "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" will return to late night on Tuesday, ABC parent company Disney confirmed.

Fellow white people, if your paperclip/safety pin/blue bracelet/red lipstick/pussy hat virtue signaling makes you feel good... great. Wear the thing.

But only after you've listened to what experienced organizers are telling you. And only after you've used your time, money & privilege to help.

We've got people suggesting a blackout to protest censorship and white people deciding to wear pink paper clips. It feels like 2017 again and not in a good way.

Dr. Susan Monarez: “I could have stayed silent, agreed to the demands, and no one would have known. What the public would have seen were scientists dismissed without cause and vaccine protections quietly eroded…I would have lost the one thing that cannot be replaced: My integrity.”

Unintended metaphors during a discussion of the hidden curriculum during an EMUFDC workshop with @thetattooedprof.bsky.social today...

College is hard enough. Given the choice between the needless irritation and the somewhat excessive amount of help, be the big ass fan.
A PowerPoint slide is projected against a wall with a seam in it. It's not impossible to read, but you have to work just a little bit harder than if there were a screen. When facilities was told that the conference room was getting a little warm, they brought in a comedically oversized fan that is probably more than 6ft in diameter

You can condemn political violence and also reckon with the very deep harm a victim of that violence has done in their short lifetime. This was a bad death of a bad person.

The fact Dems are tearing each other apart over this is why we can’t have nice things. Or actually fight fascism.

Today in middle age indiginities: I can no longer pass the vision exam to drive without corrective lenses. While I always wear my glasses when I drive, I have always been able to pass the test without them. No more. I can't see a damn thing.

Your periodic reminder that mRNA vaccines are a scientific and public health game-changer. Those that have been approved have passed stringent efficacy and safety checks. They protect you and your child against potentially fatal diseases. You may, however, get a sore arm.

Host: There are new calls this morning for RFK Jr.'s resignation, and those calls coming from inside HHS itself. More than 1,000 current and former HHS workers are making this demand in a letter released this morning. They say his leadership has "put the health of all Americans at risk"

(As a highly-trained, highly-educated professional with nearly three decades of experience in and around public health, it is my expert opinion that RFK Jr can eat a bag of dicks)

This is a good critique of seemingly racist messaging coming out of the PMs office...

completely unrelated, my under-caffeinated USian brain initially read No 10 as a reference to the twitter rebrand instead of Downing Street, and uh, I think I'm going to call that website Ten from now on.
