Idk if I've mentioned this, but it took my parents 3 years to visit us at our home. I've seen so many other family members in the 3 years it took them. I've visited home 2-3 times during that. I won't forget this like they think I will. They forgot my birthday like 4 times now #offmychest

My partners sister offered to visit during Christmas week this year! We haven't seen her a lot in the last couple years but my partner is excited to see their sister for Xmas!

This year I told family we wouldn't be visiting for Christmas or Thanksgiving. We've spent the last 3 years travelling during the holidays and I'm miserable every time, I'm not doing it this year - I don't have anyone to watch the cats (kinda) and I don't have enough PTO for it to be worthwhile.

Last year during the holidays, we had a layover in vegas overnight. We were the first plane out the next morning. Did you know that airport doesn't shut off the volume on slot machines overnight?? Instead of sleeping, we wandered the streets n went to a dive bar. I was exhausted! #notdoingthatagain
