I’m officially on Storygraph! If you’ve read one of my books, I’d love you forever if you left a review on Storygraph, Goodreads, and/or Amazon!
I had so much fun running a Go program at my library today. And the coolest part was that my coworker made the boards using our makerspace! And i do realize the stone bowls are massive. I messed up the 3D print and didn’t give dimensions. 😂 #librariesrock #gotothelibrary

I have been using RedNote as a replacement for TikTok, and as a way to reconnect with the Chinese culture since moving back to the States. I love how helpful the netizens are, and how interesting the debate can be when talking about qualifiers. All because me and the kid I tutor heard different ones

I had a pretty good January in terms of reading. If I can keep up ten books a month, I’ll be as happy as I can be.

My library lets people take up to fifty books out at a time. I work as a teen librarian assistant and it’s adding so much to my tbr. (And before anyone worries, none of these have holds on them. I’m also reading Six of Crows, and will finish it soon since there are holds in that one)

I’m finding it very hard to find the light right now. I know it’s the depression talking, but it feels like we can’t do anything. And the fact that there are those that think what he has done is good makes me feel more hopeless.

If you're looking for a place to do some work, the public library is like a coffeeshop where you don't need to buy anything and there's a lot more space and you can stay as long as you like and you don't get any coffee.

I just ran my third library program. I had seventeen people show up when I was thinking only four or six would. It warms my heart to see how each program I run has exceeded expectations with attendance. #lovelibraries #librariesrock

At least I don’t have a shortage of books to read.

My #readinggoals for 2025 is 100 books, like it has been since 2022. Didn’t reach it last year after passing it in 2023 and 2022, but it’s a new year and I’ve already read seven books >300 pages each. What is your goal?
January 21, 2025 at 1:00 AM
I’m at around 600. Need to do a recount.
A book collection counts as a library when you own 1000+ books. And that, everyone, is my goal for 2025. I hope you all support me on this journey :)

Go to the library.
Check out a book.

Go to the library.
Return the book.

Repeat. #booksky

One thing before tomorrow:

Use your local libraries.

Get your card.

Borrow books, manga, films, audios, ebooks.

Recommend titles for purchase (usually online).

Attend promoted activities.

Fill out those "How are we doing?" questionnaires.

Tell your kids that libraries are good.

They are.

What happens if you comment free Luigi on #tiktok gotta love the fall of free speech and censorship
January 20, 2025 at 8:48 PM
Anyone else see that #tiktok is now being censored? Can’t even say free Luigi anymore (immediately gets taken down), protest videos are being suppressed, and lives are glitching. #sus #fucktrump #freeluigi

This is paradise for me. Read outside for an hour or two and only came in because my fingers needed warmth.

As a librarian, I 100% agree.

Writers: yes, you are still a "real" writer if you
- have never published anything
- have no readers
- didn't write anything this month
- didn't write anything this year
- can't articulate words anymore
- can only float and mournfully wail
- were murdered ten years ago on this very spot

Just a reminder that your local library has more than just books! Many also have dvds, cds, video games, game systems, internet hot spots, streaming services, ebooks, audio books, park passes, museum passes, and so so much more! Maybe it's time for a visit!
