Glad this reviewer called out the tempo meddling in the recent Glyndebourne Figaro at the Proms - I'm finding it wholly unconvincing and intrusive in the R3 replay.

Oh, and now I just heard the ghastly oboe slide at the end of "Dunque, parlate al meno" 🤮

Spending a Saturday afternoon and evening watching a 6 hour long opera isn’t everyone’s cup of tea.

But for me, knowing I’ll be at opening night of Parsifal at Glyndebourne in May is officially #exciting #news!

“A study published last year in JAMA Network, a publication of the Journal of the American Medical Association, found that 22% of cancer patients did not receive the care their doctors prescribed because of authorization delays or outright denials.”
Health insurers are increasingly interfering in care, an NBC News investigation has found.

Doctors say the stakes are highest in cancer care, when delays can be the difference between life and death.

This seems a bit hard on the poor old storm chasers.

Talk about tainted by association.

Hanging out at Logan’s Cafe new location in Boulder. Seems it’s Schumann Saturday here (Kinderszenen), which is just perfect.

Enjoyed listening to Fidelio today from ROH. Jennifer Davis particularly good, I thought. Some of the tempi seemed overly lively, but I first got to know it listening to Klemperer/Ludwig…

One of my very best purchases of recent years: this pair of Peter Eaton Elite clarinets, which I got back in 2016/17, the B-flat direct from Peter, and the A from a player in LA, as new. Love the big, warm sound of English wide bore clarinets.

Getting ready to play Brahms and Mozart soon.

Hello Bsky!

🎶 Off to play the Mozart Kegelstatt trio at our monthly meeting this morning.

It’s only two weeks today since thyroid surgery - feeling happy to be back to playing clarinet again so quickly.
