Right after Doug Ford decides it's a great idea to dump raw sewage into Lake Ontario next to a beach, Carney gives him authority to fast-track projects 🫠

Experts warn this will gut environmental protections, public consultation & First Nations rights:

Ontarians are spending a record amount on a government whose focus is private spas, casinos, mental health chatbots, private healthcare, alcohol, groomed snowmobile trails, and well-trained peelers.

This could be a hit TV series.

Doug Ford has a cabinet minister living in Timmins.
The minister could explain how northern towns have brutal levels of homelessness and lack of basic services.
But the minister has been MIA as Dougie brags about more casinos and 6 packs in corner stores.

She doesn't believe that government should be providing any services to Albertans, she believes that private companies should be used universally to provide services.

It seems Ontarians need a reminder of what each level of government is responsible for.

Please note, Provincial is healthcare and education. Doug Ford (and NOT Trudeau!!) has failed the people of Ontario 🤬

It's the provinces that are dragging their feet. BC, Manitoba, PEI, and the Yukon has signed on. My conservative Premier of course has not signed on. So we are waiting on our premiers. Most of our day to day falls under the provincial government, although everyone like to blame the Feds. #cdnpoli

Great read from @jack-farrell.bsky.social. Out of Alberta's 19 premiers, only Smith and Social Credit leader William Aberhart have faced a citizen recall.
Aberhart blamed shadowy forces behind the scenes pulling strings to orchestrate his ouster. Weeks later, his government voted to repeal the act.

The province-level Conservative Party (UPC) in Alberta is using the “Notwithstanding Clause” a STAGGERING 4TH TIME IN UNDER 2 MONTHS to ignore the Canadian Charter of Rights & Freedoms. In this Alberta Govt, extremist ideology is clearly a lot more important than human rights and the rule of law.
Premier’s use of the Charter of Rights & Freedoms “Notwithstanding Clause” is supposed to be VERY RARE, to address blatant Judicial overreach.

Smith in Alberta would use it to blatantly erase human rights, the CORE OF THE CHARTER.

Ford in Ontario would use it to backstop his own BLATANT OVERREACH.
Just in case you weren’t sure how awful Doug ford is. The courts ruled against him based on the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms because PEOPLE WILL DIE IF HE REMOVES SAFE BIKE INFRASTRUCTURE. So he’s considering ABUSING the Notwithstanding Clause just for ego and some cheap suburban votes.

Many of the youngest voters now never directly experienced what harper did.
18 yr olds were 8.
25 yr olds were 15.
Many adults don't remember what harper did.
The only things people remember about PM Trudeau are the carbon tax, immigrants and maybe the tanker ban.
And only because they see it daily.
