I’m cat-sitting for @beafitz.bsky.social this week while she’s in Sunny Spain!

Princess Elizabeth, Leo and I have had plenty of cuddles, stayed warm on our respective radiators & heated blankets and lots of Dreamies (them not me)… We’re getting lots of work and reading done in between! 🤓💘

We are alarmed and shocked by the arrest and detainment of our author and colleague Mahmoud Muna, along with his nephew Ahmad Muna, owners and booksellers of Jerusalem’s Educational Bookshop.

Please share our statement below widely.

Barbara Kingsolver has done something amazing (in addition to being a great writer). I found Demon Copperhead very hard to read because of the realities of the opioid epidemic. Now the book's royalties (it's a bestseller) will fund a rehab centre

Barbara Kingsolver has put royalties from her Pulitzer Prize-winning novel to work in the region it portrayed, starting a home for women in recovery.

The last episode of Mo Season 2 is unlike anything I’ve seen before… So poignant and beautiful.
Mo really is one of the best TV shows ever.

Had a fantastic time listening to the incredible Sarah Waters discuss ‘Fingersmith’, The Women’s Prize For Fiction and the ‘Sensation’ novel as part of the @womensprize.bsky.social Book Club with @savidgereads.bsky.social

How great it is to have these events in the North West!

Sarah Waters could write Great Expectations but Charles Dickens could never have written Fingersmith.
