The absolute lowest death toll from the Gaza genocide is equivalent to 6 Bondi shootings *every single day for over 2 years.* That is 90 people per day. 70,000 at a bare minimum.

It is more likely at least 3 or 4 times that and very possibly more.

Also, we’re on devices where every single app is built to make us use it more or do something, in many cases by forcing us to watch an ad or through a new menu so we might do something profitable. We don’t even operate in honest exchanges of value with many businesses anymore!

This should also consider any and all attempts to create new product lines to depreciate cheaper products. It’s so easy to break this kind of behavior! But politicians are addicted to growth and don’t seem to care about the experience of being a normal person

Funny animal videos no longer being trustworthy just fucking sucks all around. I love the wonder of animal behavior and what it says about the experience of being alive. It's because it happened in reality that it's so fun. It's not fun if it was just made up. There's no wonder there.

The name "Popular Science" doesn't mean we shift our coverage depending on public opinion. It means we cover relevant subjects that are rigorously researched, reliable, and grounded in reality.

And trans lives are grounded in reality.

We see y'all. No matter what.

This is true even beyond AI. Use primary references for your mood boards, try and always go back to the source, you will discover new and creative things. Keep existing art/film/games ref to 10%. Don’t use games of thrones as a reference, use what inspired game of thrones as a reference.
Been thinking on the use of GenAi for mood boards. Ethics and legal risks aside, I truly believe using GenAi as references deprives one of many pivotal things.

Here’s a blurb on what I mean:

Shortly before I finished edits on MORE EVERYTHING FOREVER, an economist warned me against proposing a wealth tax with a cap on maximum net worth. He told me it was too unpopular and people would say I was out of touch with reality. I seriously considered listening to him.

I'm really glad I didn't.

One of the most common replies in any discussion of universal basic income is "but how do we pay for it?" and not once do those same people ever question the costs incurred by not doing UBI. We spend $1.5 trillion every year on the costs of child poverty alone. Poverty ain't free, folks. WE ALL PAY.
