He is a very good interviewer by modern standards simply by coming to interviews prepared, asking follow-up questions, and not accepting bullshit answers. This often catches his subjects completely flat footed and they tend to say very damning things

The liberal Zionist replies are revealing - they see themselves as the Serious Person in their families who argue with their relatives about illegal settlements, but ultimately give those settlements a pass if they're bundled into Making Aliyah as a value neutral proposition.
I can't speak for what was said at the protests, but seeing people react to an anodyne statement like "sacred spaces should not be used to promote activities in violation of international law" as if it were a vicious slur is clarifying.
