This week's column is about how we spend our most valuable asset of all: time

Life has become less obviously strenuous. For women, unpaid work is being replaced with paid work. Men enage in more leisure than ever. Both sexes sleep more.

Why, then, does life feel rushed?

Spain’s Christmas lotto jackpot could once buy you two homes and three cars. Today, it won’t cover an average flat in most of major cities.

I look at why and how Spain has left housing to pot luck.

Announcement time: as you may know, for a few years my wife and I have been creating audio tours of destinations in Andalucía using a great app called VoiceMap.

It’s been going really well, so we’ve decided to branch out with a website for visitors to Andalucía. It’s called Andalucía Bound.

I wonder if considering the 1st Amendment issues of Trump suing the BBC might be beyond the point.

Trump has sued many for libel and got huge payouts out of it despite not having a ground to stand on. The 1st Amendment is not a great protection if the man suing you has unfettered power

Un exemple de polític de nova generació, més obert al canvi, més proper a un socialista europeu que al centrisme esgotat de la vella guàrdia.

A very interesting article (as always) by Tom Calver. It does leave me wondering if there's any research on Poles who moved to the UK in the 2000s and have since moved back. What are their occupations, ages, family status? How much are they now contributing to the Polish economy?
🇵🇱 My @thetimes column: Poland’s economic miracle

12 out of 17 Polish regions are now richer than West Wales. It has faster internet, cheaper electricity and more high speed rail than Britain

When it comes to regional development it’s the UK, not Poland, that needs to catch up
