Looks like ICE is now cracking down on … Native Americans.

This letter was just posted by the chairman of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe in North/South Dakota:

“Our Nation is a sovereign government and our members are not immigrants. We are not subject to immigration enforcement on our own lands.”

DHS is nothing but an org chart created by panicked interns in the wake of 9/11. It's less than 25 years old.

Ditto ICE, CBP, and USCIS, all of which were just INS back before we created the DHS.

We can reconfigure them again, strip them of their hardware, put them in non-militarized departments.

Great piece by my Cato colleague. “Since July, immigration agents have shot at least six people behind the wheel of a vehicle. The same playbook is used each time: the agent says they “feared for their life” as a vehicle was “weaponized” against them. Juries should decide, but we tie their hands.
Opinion | Renee Good wasn’t the first person shot in her car by ICE. The justification followed a familiar script.
Mike Fox: The officer who shot and killed a woman in Minneapolis might never have to defend his actions before a judge or jury.

Zero authority to do this, and also would nuke access to credit to absolutely everyone in the country.

1. I don't think someone in fear for his life would be recording on his cell phone

2. I don't think someone who feared for his life would say "fucking bitch" after shooting at point blank range

3. I don't think someone who feared a weaponized vehicle would walk in front of it while filming

Let us fly up above the current situation into the airy realms of pure theory…

If you have a lethal weapon in one hand, the lethality of which is triggered by the motion of the index finger on that hand, then you need to not be holding anything in the other hand that is operated by the index finger
Also: you CANNOT fucking pull a gun on someone while filming on your fucking cell phone.

If as a LEO your judgment is the situation has reached the point where deadly force may be warranted & you need your gun out, not having your full attention on it is at BEST depraved indifference to human life

I think it is probably a bad idea to put clearly unhinged, angry psychopaths in federal law enforcement positions.

They do not seem to have full control of Venezuela, if they have to keep seizing tankers...
Breaking News: The U.S. boarded an oil tanker in the Caribbean, the latest such move in the Trump administration's campaign to control Venezuela’s oil exports. It's the fifth tanker to be boarded or seized by U.S. forces in the last month.

Esto es, más o menos, el coste de la LAV Madrid-Barcelona y la LAV Madrid-Valencia ENTERAS.

Para renovar UN edificio.
I can’t understand how the restoration of the Houses of Parliament will cost…
£15 billion!

That’s…. £133,000 a square metre!

For context, to build a brand new skyscraper in London is around £10,000 /m2. What the hell?

US airports like JFK and LAX should seriously consider these, and the former should use the proceeds to make the JFK AirTrain free.
