So, as I mentioned, while dog sitting for a friend I’ve been binge re-watching “Archer”. I just finished the third season last night before bed and I’ve been laughing hard enough to take my mind off of all… *waves hands around *.

IIRC, I think I’ve got at least two solid seasons left before…

Yo don’t understand. The guy that got everybody at a banquet to laugh at him has a trophy that he doesn’t. That’s pretty much a war crime.

Of course, the show was a sort of proto-“Rick and Morty” in that a lot of the worst denizens of the internet loved it for all the wrong reasons.

None of the characters are role models. They’re all just terrible people being terrible, albeit hilariously.

Normally when I look at something like that, it’s immediately before writing “destroyed by saw to ATF spec” in my FFL’s bound book. 😂

Problems with pharma don't mean that quackery works.

Problems in aircraft design don’t mean that magic carpets can actually fly.

Trump, a vocal war crimes enthusiast for more than a decade, is mad he didn’t get the nobel so his aides are gonna spend all day humiliating themselves in competition over who can kiss his ass better

I just love how the little bits like this get woven into the fabric of the show and keep popping up later.

I had somehow forgotten about that one and “Bloody Ferlin” and oh my god were they great.

Actually, between the Gladio references in Lo Scandolo and the JDM cars in Drift Problem, season three was really giving my specific nerderies some real fanservice.

Archer remains one of the most under-appreciated shows, especially in terms of writing. My God, the stuff FX was able to push out in that peak comedy era was so good.

Archer, Wilfred, Baskets, Man Seeking Woman, etc

The closest thing to a decent human being among the crew at ISIS is Lana Kane, and she’s mercenary, insecure, and terrified of emotional attachment (and a domineering bully with Cyril in the early episodes)… and she’s the best of the bunch.

Also, S2:E10 “El Secuestro“ remains one of my favorite bits of TV of all time. Like, I have it physically saved on all my devices in case I have an unexpectedly long layover or whatever.

…the quality drops off to merely good instead of epic.
