Something I'm really enjoying about The Outer Worlds 2 is how snappy the dialogue is. People don't waffle on for pages and pages. More is not better.
Buy a solo indie dev's game because I want to support them.

Find out it uses OpenAI to write "non-important NPC dialogue".

Remember puberty blockers are not the end goal. They are a compromise, to allow trans kids more time before puberty starts to decide *which* puberty should start

That's a useful tool, but the trial this govt has tied their ban to is testing if they do something else

I don't have internet connected at my new place yet, and it's really illuminating how many things require internet for no good reason.

New from me: I talked to CDC staffers about the new vaccines and autism page. They said things like:

“The best way I can put it is it feels like we’re on a hijacked airplane.”

“I think people are starting to see that we can’t fulfill our mission here.”

This is basically a Mad Libs prompt. Various transgenders, sodomites, apostates, and critical theorists…

… play D&D every Friday nights.

… got into an argument about whether polycules are praxis.

… made plans to visit GenCon but flaked at the last moment because they’re all in their late 30s.

Man, just learning that Elon Musk and Peter Thiel were once in a car wreck together, and imagining that alternate timeline.

Saw Dave Dobbyn play his anthem to immigration “Welcome Home” live last night. It’s about New Zealand, but pretty much applies to any place with anti-immigration sentiment.

Always makes me emotional, and to hear the whole town hall singing along was magical.

We've got access to webcams around the country that help us monitor the weather. And sometimes we get visitors! 🐦‍⬛
With one pic every four minutes, it's not easy to catch birds in flight, but we got a lucky shot today 📸

Man, how did I miss DishwHacker
@techconnectify.bsky.social The home automation community needs to get into dishwashers. Like a HackWasher project, where the control board is replaced by an Arduino, and then folks could write custom wash programs that actually take advantage of the sensors.

I was a little too young to see Back to the Future on the big screen in 1985. Great to finally see one of my favourite movies as it was meant to be seen. It’s *so good*!

It's great to hear the whole story from @siouxsiew.bsky.social herself. Kick in a few bucks if you can!
Dr. Siouxsie Wiles saved lives during the pandemic by educating the public about what was happening. During that time, she withstood relentless harassment from conspiracy theorists & went to court to force employers to protect people like her. Here's her story! 🧪 www.patreon.com/posts/142933...

We talk about precise jury instructions and proof beyond a reasonable doubt, but the real practical function of juries in our system is as a final check on the most extreme "this is complete bullshit" prosecutions. And that they don't have to explain their reasoning is why that works.

Hands up if you ALWAYS drop stuff (food, ink, anything that leaves a mark, etc) on yourself and, yet, still buy clothes that will glaringly show this grubbiness

Both hands up if you then wear those clothes, after thinking "ugh, I'll probably get these grubby before I leave the house", and 🎯

Agent Lairmore is done with his testimony. Prosecution asked further about the condiments and he said there was mustard on his uniform and an onion hanging on his radio antenna. Don’t think defense was going for a pun when she called him a “seasoned officer,” but you never know…

This is a great idea to contribute to Wikipedia for those of us who aren’t good with research.
You can photograph local politicians, landmarks (esp rural or non US), your professors etc. And yes celebs! Macaulay Culkin’s pic is from 2014 and he’s dressed as Snow White performing pizza-themed Velvet Underground covers in Iowa. Delightful, but maybe time to update so we actually see his face!
