Regularly, friends and colleagues who know I live in Portland ask "How are you doing???" in reaction to all the propaganda they see about Portland. Two answers: 1) don't believe the propaganda, and 2) check this out. This is part of the reason Portland is awesome.

I suspect the protests are much scarier to the administration than they let on. Why? Because it proves that people can still connect, come together, and show their power. Of course it's more than just protests, but the protests are visible, tangible, overwhelming, terrifying evidence.
