Yeah, he’s acknowledging that anyone he “knows” is automatically suspect (the implication ofc being they’ll lie for him) whereas people he doesn’t “know” maybe honest. It doesn’t work when your a would be king who famously hates bad news. Even viziers you don’t know lie to make you happy
