One thing I find interesting about the echo chamber complaint is that an echo chamber just won a presidential election.

Put aside the convo of whether it’s “good” or “bad” for a moment. The far right has devoted enormous resources + time to building echo chambers & loathes spaces they don’t control
The "bluesky is an echo chamber" think pieces that keep popping up really tickle me because they show how certain people genuinely believe social media should be for debating and arguing and not talking about the things that make you happy and sharing art with the world.

The share of Republicans who say that they’re worse off financially than they were a year ago is already down 15-points since the election.

This is not the threat you think it is.
Some House Freedom Caucus members are screaming payback if Dems successfully force a vote on the House floor to release the Gaetz ethics report, saying it could lead to them getting other reports involving current or former Dem members, per Politico

We love links because we love the open web
It is so incredibly nice to have a social platform that values links again - a breath of fresh air in the poisoned ecosystem of the creator economy

The thing that really differentiates Bluesky is that it doesn’t feel like it was designed by a bunch of people who will lose their jobs if I spend a little less time on Bluesky.

Everyone needs housing, everyone eats, everyone wants clean water. No one needs to be thrown anywhere.
Governor Andy Beshear, in a Trump +30 state, gives advice to Democrats: Do not throw LGBTQ+ people under the bus, it will not work.

His advice to dems: Lead on your values.

This man ran on a fully inclusive campaign in 2023 and won. He received the same kind of ads Harris did.

So Trump's new secretary of defense has white nationalist tattoos
In that same book, Hegseth talks of how he was one of 12 Nat'l Guard members Kept from Biden's inauguration due to extremism. He says it was due to his Jerusalem Cross tattoo, but I'm betting it was his tattoo of Deus Vult, the rallying cry of the 1st Crusade in 1099 - and White Supremacists today.

The most bigoted people I can imagine have had their phobias validated, and the dumbest people I can imagine have had their deep thoughts validated.
Get ready to read this over and over again for the next 4 years as to why the Deep State hasn’t been crushed yet. The normies are always the Final Boss of QAnon. If only they would admit QAnon was right we could live in a utopia.

This is the toxic information environment. Enough peoples material reality has gotten worse to want something different regardless of 100 graphs. Liberals love gaslighting that it isn’t true. We are going to see endless change elections at this rate.
At least not in modern history. This is the thing every “inflation” and “the economy” explanation needs to be able to explain.

Hmm, what happened in the late 80s to cause such a shift in the direction the line goes?
Yes +3 but:

1) Prices never do that. This is a totally new, fabricated yardstick we/the media never talked about before, even in the 1970s

2) Americans are more worried about inflation than Germans (data coming soon) despite inflation coming down faster & real income actually declining there

If someone can honestly look at the what young men are experiencing in almost all aspects of life, and not think there is something going on that needs to be addressed. They are not looking at reality.
I agree with Michael about this--but the reason so many people are talking about it is the 13 point shift from D to R among young voters (presumably more pronounced among men).

Usually the young are reliably D. If this were to stick (and that's a big if), it would be tough to beat realignment.
Based on the information we have now, young white men were more likely to support Harris than any other age group.

Man-O-Sphere garbage is clearly a problem but Gen X white dudes are more right-wing and far more likely to vote.

If we don't do something about the information environment we're cooked.
AOC asked the Trump/AOC voters why the split ticket and i don't think we're going to make it
