The Trump era will end. It is a disgrace that so many will have to suffer before it does.

But when it does, we will be ready with policies not to restore the flawed system, but to make public health effective, compassionate, and accessible to all.

Defend Public Health.

The legacy of Vinay Prasad, Jay Bhattacharya, and Marty Makary will be the spread of infectious diseases in kids. If Florida does this, you can bet a ton of other red states will follow.
I don't think I'm generally that alarmist when it comes to vaccine policy, but this is genuinely insane.

Florida isn't targeting COVID vaccines, it's state surgeon general wants to remove ALL vaccine mandates in school.
Today, Governor DeSantis shared his plans to end vaccine requirements in the state of Florida. We are concerned that today's announcement will put children in Florida public schools at higher risk for getting sick and have ripple effects across their community.

I think that’s pretty explicitly Kennedy’s and Bhattacharya’s position, that if you’re no longer working and augmenting wealthy people’s wealth, you are no longer needed. It’s Randian eugenics.

Absolutely. I'm at Stanford, and during COVID we had no shortage of faculty here who thought they could master the fields of epidemiology and infectious diseases overnight (e.g. Scott Atlas, Michael Levitt, Jay Bhattacharya)

RFK Jr talks like a new age health guru, but most of his views are garden-variety hateful reactionary. He wants people with HIV to die as punishment. Same thread runs though his positions on Medicaid, vaccines, opioid treatment, psychiatric meds, etc: you deserve to suffer, it's God's will.

Literally every virus outbreak/epidemic I’ve been involved with over the last 35 years has involved an origins conspiracy theory (HIV had multiple). My conclusion is that some people intrinsically want to assign blame to a human and cannot accept what nature does. It’s always about blame.

Jay Bhattacharya. RFK Jr. Marty Makary. Mehmet Oz. Vinay Prasad. This carnival of clowns only want free speech for themselves. They've been "silenced," they say. No one silenced them - you can't shut these guys up. Now they're in power, and only what THEY say counts. @joho.bsky.social

Yes, because "masks don't work" - or didn't you know that?
Vaccines don't work, either. Only Jay Bhattacharya's version of herd immunity works - infect everyone, multiple times, and then the pandemic will be over (and all the most vulnerable people will be dead).
It's crap. It was always crap.

Every much more and such making itself known about RFK, Jr. .. it becomes abundantly clear that he's even more incompetent for his current cabinet position than every other cabinet post.. and most are supremely incompetent. What an absolute shame he is for this regime, which might just be the point!

What the U.S. government is doing in relation to public health is so irrational and harmful that it’s almost impossible to process it.

They are lying about how vaccines are tested. They are lying about vaccines containing “aborted fetus debris”.

This is public health malpractice.
