We’ve now heard that most of the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS) at ED is being let go as well. The harm caused to students if these layoffs are allowed to proceed cannot be overstated. ED cannot carry out its statutorily required duties without these offices.

You can review Federal District Court Judge Fred Biery’s well-written decision that temporarily enjoins 11 Texas Schools from following the TX Legislature’s SB10 that requires the 10 Commandments in every classroom. assets.aclu.org/live/uploads...

Are we living in a dictatorship yet?
On Inauguration Day, I listed 12 tripwires of tyranny. We’ve hit 5 of them and are close to 5 others.

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office.

Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc.

Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

“But appeasement now would be a mistake. This anti-democratic movement has no interest in compromise. Any concessions will help consolidate the powers of a lawless presidency and entrench a new, kleptocratic, authoritarian form of government in the United States.” @katherinestewart.bsky.social

@kenmartin.bsky.social so what got done today?
Who is designated on-point for responses for each of these:

>Musk @ the Treasury obtaining private information?
>the trade war that will hurt every American?
>illegal deportations of persons here legally ?

Where is the cohesive message? We are behind

“That is the tension at the heart of Trump’s whole strategy: Trump is acting like a king because he is too weak to govern like a president. He is trying to substitute perception for reality. He is hoping that perception then becomes reality. That can only happen if we believe him.”

Look closely at the first two weeks of Donald Trump’s second term and you’ll see something very different than what he wants you to see.

“So, freak the fuck out. Now would be good.”
Hey Dems,
Imagine just how much the GOP would be freaking the fuck out if Obama or Biden had allowed Soros access to all treasury payment and taxpayer data. Because they’d be right to freak the fuck out.

So, freak the fuck out. Now would be good.

16 Democratic senators recently voted to confirm the Trump-appointed Treasury Secretary who just gave Musk’s team access to a Treasury payment system that disburses trillions and holds mass quantities of personal information. Food for thought. www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

Sorry to trouble you, Senator, but there’s A COUP GOING ON AND IT WORRIES ME A BIT MORE THAN MY NEXT BLT.
You’re worried about tomato prices.

Wait till Trump’s Mexico tariffs raise your tomato prices.

Should it concern you that ICE needs to apprehend these “criminals“ at places like work, in churches, & at schools?

I thought those were the places we found our neighbors.

Maybe this is about who we have as neighbors, instead of crime.

Trump is openly violating the law on a vast and unprecedented scale and everyone is acting like it's normal. NPR had a long story about finding a rare shrew. NYT said he was disregarding "legal niceties." This is an attack on the Constitution as profound as the attempt to overturn the 2020 election.

It is not the constitution that is failing us.

Honest suggestion for @thedemocraticparty.bsky.social #dncchair meeting - tear up the agenda tomorrow. Don't cancel the vote but hold a press conference on the shit that's going down. Don't wait on Jeffries and Schumer. The media isn't going to cover it until someone treats it like an emergency.

Aspiration is the answer. Not just “we’re not the bad guys.”

We need something more meaningful than that. I want a future worth fighting for. They have no vision. We do. Lean into our strengths and knock them out. 👊🏽

Please keep fighting, you’re the only leaders’ voices in the fight it seems.
Where is the resistance? We need a clear response, from persons of integrity, intellect & fight. Stop talking about this conduct like it is a fart… it’s not “appalling”—it is anti-American, abusive and an outright attack on American values. Let go of your pearls and make a fist. #makeafist
