The Trump-Vance mass deportation plans are sickeningly extreme. Most Americans don't support them and Dems have room to go on offense on this. Ad by me and the geniuses I am incredibly lucky to work with at Way to Win, production by Conexión. (both not on here yet)

For several years now I have been saying that Democratic voters have not directed their anger at D leaders because most voters, even engaged activists, really thought D leaders were fighting as hard as they could.

And I said if and when D voters found out they’d be ANGRY.
That’s what we see now.

JUST NOW: Huge mass of agents in a standoff, weapons drawn as Reps. Ilhan Omar, Angie Craig, and Kelly Morrison attempt to conduct congressional oversight at the Whipple Building, which has been HQ for thousands of ICE agents.

Remember the backlash to defund? The “fund the police” line that Biden/Dems settled on was from a memo by a reactionary centrist donor advisor and operative, Dmitri Mehlhorn. Straight line from that memo to this disaster.
if only there had been a movement and momentum several years ago to downsize police budgets, clear out the white supremacists and de-militarize local law enforcement
The elephant in the room is that mayors and governors across the country have very good reason to question the loyalty and allegiances of the state and local police forces and that’s one of the impediments to doing anything about the current occupations

That isn’t self defense, it’s an angry execution.

jfc. People. Dems DOING the right things starts with them SAYING the right things. And before this a lot of them were not saying the right things. Keep pushing but don’t attack the people who are starting to come around.

how hard is this

People believe bad things about Dems because Rs understand how to drive narratives and we don't. The attack on Biden in this is particularly blatant and stupid maybe, but it's a mindset they've got that Dems lack.

JFC. Figured this was coming, it's not even surprising, many such cases, but Ross was "... married to a Filipina immigrant."
It should be bigger news that masked agents were filmed hours ago removing potentially inculpatory evidence from the ICE shooter's house, clearly lacking evidence tags or chain of custody stickers.

Before we have word on whether he underwent a toxicology screen at the hospital following the killing

Ok we all need this TL cleanse so badly after this week
This morning, Ms. Rachel and I visited District 2 Pre-K Center, where we sang and read with the wonderful students and educators. We also discussed universal childcare - and how we're making it happen for NYC!

they didn’t leak it to make the shooter look innocent, but to make the victim look guilty. not guilty of a crime. guilty of having a visibly queer wife. guilty of liberalism. guilty of opposing the regime. they don’t seek to exonerate themselves, only to demonstrate who deserves to die.
In the video that the shooter took, which I believe was leaked to be exculpatory, he appears to yell “fucking bitch” after he shoots Renee Good.

ICE opinion is shifting from lefties (a little) + reality (a lot). But it's happening much more slowly than it would on the right, because a, our partisan media is comparatively weak, and b, three-quarters of Dems are still prioritizing Seeming Moderate over stopping ICE from murdering moms.

There was a huge kerfuffle about Mamdani saying … this, exactly, which is actually happening.
Last year, ICE agents used Canary Mission to kidnap pro-Palestine students for deportation. Yesterday, they prevented medical aid from reaching Renee Nicole Good. American law enforcement was already in horrific shape; it’s getting even worse in distinct ways. defector.com/ice-is-model...
ICE Is Modeling Its Brutality After The IDF | Defector
Call it recency bias, personal interest, or perhaps just a general concern for society’s trajectory right now, but as I followed Wednesday’s news of an ICE agent killing 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good ...

Biden was vastly better at the economy than Trump. 95% of all job creation since WWII happening under Dem admins - the pattern is still holding.
Manufacturing is effectively in a recession, losing jobs every month since April, for a total loss of 72,000 jobs.

Since April, essentially all private sector job gains have been in health care: health care added 306,000 jobs over that period, while the private sector overall added just 300,000.
Today's #JobsReport tells us the economy is decidedly weaker than a year ago:
-unemployment rate is 4.4%, up from 4.1% last Dec
-payroll employment up 50k; total gain this year only 585k compared to 2.0 million in 2024
-federal employment is down 277k since Jan, a loss of 9.2% federal jobs

I’ve heard from multiple friends today about daycares being raided and parents being ripped out of cars (in one case with a child left behind in the backseat). Grim times here.
The situation in Minneapolis is insane: seemingly many large convoys of heavily armed masked men, blocking off streets at random, grabbing people nearly at random, racing around the city with no discernible plan or aim. Under attack by our own government the day after it killed someone

Roving MAGA Harassment and Death Squads. All making six figures each.
just had my first major real-life encounter with an ICE convoy and the sheer creepiness of a bunch of men in masks rolling through your community hard to convey in texts. they have half the city on their tail at all times at least

This shit is completely crazy
Married father of two here. We just want health care, child care, housing, and higher education that doesn’t economically enslave us.

This is a theocratic plan for a return to 1950s patriarchy.

We just need 1950s tax rates.
👀 Marriage “bootcamp,” huge tax breaks for couples with kids, capping alimony, discouraging online dating…

A WaPo exclusive, we got the final draft of the Heritage Foundation’s “Manhattan Project” for more babies.

Plus a previous draft with scrapped ideas, which you’ll want to see.

There is absolutely no theory or philosophy of US government where it is appropriate for the Department of Homeland Security to taunt, mock, and terrorize the citizenry of the Homeland. It's pure evil - an authoritarian campaign of vindictive terror.

If they’ll lie about something with tons of video showing it to be obviously and completely false, what else will they lie about?
Noem: "What happened was our officers were out trying to get a car stuck out of the snow when they were surrounded and assaulted and blocked in by protesters ... this was an act of domestic terrorism" (It was 40 degrees in Minneapolis yesterday and snow was melting ... )

Five republicans and even Fetterman voted for a war powers resolution. For those saying Trump will ignore it, maybe so, but this is the nearly the first time Congress has located its spine and even tried to push back on the mad king. It’s a huge deal.
This is a BFD! The Senate just voted 52-47 to advance the war powers resolution on #Venezuela! Five Republicans joined all the Democrats in sending a massive rebuke to Trump's mad king warmaking.

This isn't the end of the line, but it's a really big deal and massive defeat for Trump.
