Got to meet Ben Chou this evening and he’s a great guy. Can I get some friends- esp those who live in NYC- to donate to Ben’s city council campaign tonight? Even $5! He’s running to defeat local fascist and xenophobic racist Vickie Paladino. 👇

The 114th Precinct was in fine form last night, dodging questions about reckless drivers, calling a federal invasion “extremely hypothetical,” and also clarifying that they can’t arrest dogs:

Astoria's 31st Avenue #openstreet is magic-a-licious. Now re-designed by NYC DOT as a bike boulevard permanently but still on weekends hosts neighbors, games, community, commerce & people lounging in the sun!

Donate to firefighter Ben Chou for NYC council. He’s running against MAGA Vickie Paladino. New Yorkers deserve officials who want to fight fires, not political arsonists. If you live in Ben’s district, please vote in November. This is a winnable race.

This is too long for Bluesky, so please watch on our actual community. Vickie Paladino is the most MAGA politician in New York, going so far as calling to deport Zohran Mamdani. Here is her opponent

This can't be right. I'm constantly told I'm very hysterical terms that it's bikes that are the danger to people on sidewalks and that cars are predictable...

Just this morning, on Bowery and Canal, two people (one on a bike, one on foot) were killed by a driver who lost control of their car and went up on the sidewalk. My wife was out for a run and saw the aftermath. www.nydailynews.com/2025/07/19/o...

It's helpful to remember that when a cyclist collides with a pedestrian, it's vanishingly unlikely to cause a serious injury, unlike when a car collides with a pedestrian or cyclist. I was hurt worse when a runner crashed into me than the one time a cyclist collided with me as a pedestrian.

For all the breathless, sweating panic about Mamdani one time saying "seize the means of production" and AOC being both hot and socialist, by far the greatest threat of central economic planning and gulag labor comes indisputably from the Right.

They want the benefits of the establishments built by generations of liberalism but they want to control them and subject them to their will, as well as pull up the ladder behind them. And then hollow bread and circuses for the masses.

This whole thing is idiotic, but I’m stuck on the “likely above median score for black students.” Likely based on what, Rufo’s vibes?
nkalamb.bsky.social
Chris Rufo and the NY Post have a new and shocking Mamdani BOMBSHELL:

His SAT scores were AVERAGE among admitted students!!!!!!!

This is definitely the sort of thing you report when a candidate has skeletons in the closet.
Mayoral Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani’s SAT score has been revealed after the democratic socialist was sharply criticized over the revelation that he listed himself as African American on his application to Columbia University.

Mamdani received a 2140 out of 2400 on the test which was on the lower end of median scores for admitted students but was likely above the median score for black students, independent journalist Christopher Rufo reported.

Nothing Mamdani did is untoward—unless one is operating under a worldview that views both racial hierarchy and "college crimes" as issues befitting both breathless coverage and Deep Throat-level secrecy regarding sourcing.

That is, if you are the New York Times.

Transit officials have said e-bikes account for less than 4% of traffic injuries in the city.” A policy that targets 4% instead of 96% is glaringly disproportionate. Drivers cause the most deaths, injuries, and destruction. Ask yourself why your insurance premiums are so high!
Dozens of new officers will crack down on NYC delivery workers riding e-bikes and mopeds
The Department of Transportation plans to hire 45 new peace officers targeting delivery workers who break traffic laws.

Without exaggeration, the last 50+ years of biological research completely discredits every race science claim. It is the single biggest indicator of being a malicious dullard and a reactionary ideologue. The fact I’ve had to dedicate a single minute of my career to addressing it is absurd
sethdmichaels.bsky.social
talking a lot about race-science shit, like IQ or “human biodiversity” or how bad affirmative action is, *should* be totally discrediting, a sign of lazy and shallow thinking that undermines anything else someone says

but there’s so much internalized racism among American elites that it’s not

I remember thinking at the time that the American right’s only real issue with the Taliban was that they were Muslim misogynists rather than Christian. Dinesh D’Souza even then said America had invited Islamist terrorism by being too liberal and gay.
