Still waiting for a more efficient explanation of everything than "Everyone got brain damage from Covid": the airline executives charging a $155 predatory premium for legroom, the guy deciding to customize his own flight experience, the chain of command aborting the whole flight—busted mind-traffic!
kashhill.bsky.social
This is absolutely wild. I’m on a cross country flight. We are being diverted midway through to Denver. The reason? Some dude is sitting in the exit row who didn’t pay the $155 fee and he refuses to move back to his seat.

This is so sad and sick. And the implied violence toward human bodies is clear.

Just openly cheering the destruction of any representation of gay people in public space. They think their power is totally unrestricted, and the entire country will support them rolling back society to the 1950s, or maybe the 1850s

Funny how no one in the neighborhood is complaining about ambulances and emergency access on Smith Street, which is only one lane for cars with no protected bike lane.
realgershkuntzman.bsky.social
And, of course, emergency vehicles can use the bike lane.
brooklynspoke.bsky.social
And, look, if the complaint is that emergency vehicles can't get through now that Court St has been reduced to one motor vehicle lane, then in order to be consistent you need to argue for removing parking on every side street in the city, most of which are one lane. Those are the rules!

I have to assume this is related to management's poor relationship with the union there.

It is scandalous that every big NYPD chief happens to be "disabled" when they retire.

"Tax free 3/4 of his salery life time benefits... because of an ankle injury he received on Randall's Island while on duty last year."

Bullshit. This is corruption.

Among other things, who trusts Andrew Cuomo to build “the right jail”?
c-sommerfeldt.bsky.social
Andrew Cuomo says he would as mayor seek to keep Rikers Island open and "rebuild it the right way" so that the jail complex becomes "humane" and "efficient."

This would require the City Council to undo its 2019 law mandating that Rikers be replaced with borough-based jails.

It’s not hard, and even a little note helps balance out the busybodies who are going to complain that they’ll never visit again because they can’t find parking

For all the guff we rightly give Vichy Twitter, Threads is a next-level cursed website.

The best way for our next mayor to create affordable homes is to vote @yesonaffhousing.bsky.social props 2-5.

If passed, these will accelerate the approval of new affordable housing and ensure it's being built in every neighborhood—no matter how rich.

Fixing housing crisis is a moral imperative: www.nytimes.com/2025/10/03/n...

Illegal parking everywhere is the main reason NYC's bike lanes/network always feels so half-assed #bikenyc

Our office released a new study highlighting rampant illegal parking across Downtown Brooklyn. Vehicles block sidewalks, crosswalks, bike lanes & loading zones - making it more dangerous for New Yorkers to get around the neighborhood.

Took the High Bridge home after the Tour de Bronx. I can't see this without shaking my fist and cursing Robert Moses #bikenyc
A silver and white bicycle leaned up against a fence. Three or four highways are visible in the background, overlapping and intertwined.

I'm not really sure how you do that as the federal capital though.

Local leaders, business executives and economic analysts are talking about DOGE + ICE + shutdown not as a downtown for the DC region — but as an inflection point, a signal that the region needs to pivot away from its reliance on federal work.

Grim reading: www.bloomberg.com/news/article...
The Federal Government Shutdown Adds to DC’s Economic Woes
A prolonged period of furloughs — or firings — could worsen a slowdown for the capital region.

Yet again Republicans get a full pass as they insult places where most Americans live and raise families these days. The only W Chamberlain I should ever have to know about is Wilt, not this fascist douchebag.

True New Yorker quizzes are fun and all but there is only one question in the actual True New Yorker test: Do You Take The Subway?

I'm not one to defend Amtrak, but maybe the MTA could play a little nicer if they want something in return?

Fulop's going to head up the Partnership for New York City? They couldn't find a single one out of the 8 million people who actually live in NYC to replace Kathy Wylde?
2avesag.as
It took a number of hours, but The Times *finally* fixed the question. Everyone who got selected the wrong "right" answer got credit for it though.

No hotels or new apartments. Why do these unions want NYC to be even more expensive?

Good @nickgarber.bsky.social catch: 32BJ, Hotel Trades Council and the Carpenters are coming out *against* the housing reform amendments on the City Charter -- x.com/nick_garber/...
Inbox: Speaker Adams and labor unions including HTC, 32BJ & the Carpenters will rally (implicitly) against the ballot measures on the LES tomorrow.

Notable to see HTC and BJ, two powerful unions that are supporting Zohran Mamdani and haven’t been very vocal against the measures

Next year will bring a new mayoral administration, and it’s time to think big about improving our streetscape.

The @ridersalliance.org plan for Bus Rapid Transit is exactly the kind of visionary stake in the ground we need.

BRT saves time, and time is money in New Yorkers’ pockets.
