Low tolerance for any kind of hate.
All views are my own.
I am always alarmed at how readily those who are anti-migrant, anti-trans and anti-diversity call people that oppose their views paedophiles.

This rhetoric is rarely called out by those in powerful positions, yet it has become so commonly used it is almost the expected retort when you dare engage.

Mary-Ann Stephenson assumes - either from ignorance or malice - that trans people have no legal rights as trans. That is deeply troubling from someone holding her role - although hardly surprising given her history.

Awful - and hopelessly out of her depth (just as two Select Committees concluded).

Dr Mary-Ann Stephenson, who supported and donated to Allison Bailey's case and signed gender critical letters, was vetted by two committees of MPs, and both advised the minister, Bridget Phillipson, NOT to appoint her to the chair of the EHRC. Phillipson ignored that advice. So here we are.

I was concerned that Dr Mary-Ann Stephenson might try and be smarter about transphobia than her predecessors and leave trans people in a shit place than was harder to rectify because it wasn’t so obvious.

Today dispelled those worries.

Labour have appointed a second raving bigot to run the EHRC.

I have been saying for a while that Reform will surprise us in a number of areas.

With SNP down a bit and Labour/Tories collapsing reform could win more than we reckon by wafer thin margins and on very low % of vote.

Concerning and 3 big parties better start paying attention.
Whitburn and Blackburn (West Lothian) by-election 1st prefs:

Reform UK: 1177 (32%, +15.7)
SNP: 1028 (28%, -0.9)
Labour: 627 (17.1%, -13.8)
Ind (Lynch): 484 (13.2%, +1.3)
Conservative: 129 (3.5%, -3.2)
Lib Dem: 102 (2.8%, nc)
Green: 101 (2.7%, +0.2)
Ind (Millar): 27 (0.7%, new)

RUK elected stage 8.

I hope today's ruling gives Dr Beth Upton some peace. This has been an utterly appalling display of harassment and abuse of an innocent individual who was merely getting ready for their shift.

Those who stoked this, included Anas Sarwar & Jackie Baillie. Let's never forget that.

The first is, who stays on as EHRC Commissioners?

The terms of both Akua Rheindorf and Alastair Henderson are soon up. Both are ideologically aligned with Faulkner and taint the EHRC.

Will MAS support or oppose their renewal as Commissioners? /3

This has become a common refrain from the EHRC recently: "Stop complaining about your rights. You don't have any".

It is hardly a winning argument to tell trans and non-binary individuals that we should just accept having fewer rights.
Kishwer Falkner in The Times talking about the rights of "biological people". As compared to trans people, who are, of course, non-biological.

Letting trans and non-binary just live our lives in peace and without harassment isn't going to turn everyone either trans or non-binary. This is just like the "gay panic" of the 80's/90's.

The ECHR draft guidance was so poor and illiterate they had to delete it.

Once a symbol of unity and hope across Europe, the Eurovision Song Contest has been turned into a pink-washing front for war criminals in Israel.

After today's decision, there must be a global boycott of Eurovision.

Looks like *that* country will be allowed to compete in Eurovision 2026, so it looks like it'll be a boycott for me.

Spain, Netherlands, and Ireland won't compete anyway if they do, so it's gonna be lame af compared to previous years. So yeah, nah, I'm gonna likely sit this one out. #eurovision

Controversial as this may be, the Triple Lock on pensions needs to go.

It is costing an enormous sum of money which will only increase as the population continues to age.

The working age population of the UK is really struggling yet pensioners, irrespective of wealth, are protected.

Rachel Reeves says this Labour Governments decisions are "necessary."

Why is it always necessary to hit the living standards of the 99%?

When are we going to make the necessary decisions about extreme wealth?
November 27, 2025 at 8:05 AM
The gaslighting from Labour politicians is off the scale following the Budget.

Apparently all of these measures are helping the cost of living crisis. How?

Nobodies costs are reducing. This Budget is tinkering around the edges to appease Labour backbenchers not genuinely help anyone.

When the time comes that people have to at least act as if they care about trans people, do not forget and do not forgive a single person associated with this who isn’t speaking out about it now.

Don’t let them say it was a different time. Don’t let them say they didn’t know. We know.

It shows clear intent that they believe anti-trans campaigning should be rewarded and celebrated.

We will not stand for this. As such, we will not work with The Herald or Scottish Power. Any requests for their attendance at Stirling Pride events will be refused including participation in marches.

Absolutely disgraceful decision from the Herald.

Do their sponsors agree with bigotry and hate being rewarded in this manner?
