My all new --and mind-bending-- comic, LAND OF NOJ, launches in the pages of The Phoenix Comic this week!

I was honoured to get cover duties, so here's a peek at it both with and without logo & dressing

Art things for the art gods.

These comics I drew last year sum up how I'm feeling today
4 panel comic. P1: My cartoon self, stood in the bottom left of the frame, staring at a phone while let from above with a spotlight. The background is entirely black. Test reads: "Sometimes, I like to depress myself by looking up property prices." P2: POV has shifted to a first person view of what my character is staring at on the screen. It's a property website called "Habitalism." Increasingly terrible properties are displayed, all way too expensive. P3: My cartoon self, floating in the black void, positioned diagonally, from bottom left to top right. Test reads: "I am an adult, yet I still feel aimless." P4: A lone grave, the headstone has my cartoon self's face carved on it, with the phrase "RIPiss" above it. The text reads: "Ah well... sure, eventually, I'll have four walls to call my own." Today is the 60th anniversary of Doctor Who. I’m not a hardcore fan. But it's been a part of my life from a very young age. My first episode was the first one with Jon Pertwee. New Zealand was transmitting the show a few years behind the U.K. in those days, so I’d guess I was about 7 years old? It gave my younger brother Andrew nightmares, so he was forbidden to watch for a while. I didn’t stick with the show. I dipped in and out during the Tom Baker years and drifted off entirely once he’d gone. It was only years later that it re-entered my life professionally. I started doing some freelancing for Doctor Who Magazine and became the regular letterer of the comic strip in the 1990s. I rarely miss an episode these days. I still don’t consider myself a hardcore fan. I love the idea of it more than the show itself - where the coolest person in the room is the really odd one, who solves problems through brains and kindness. That’s as positive a role model as anyone could hope for.
