It’s another beautiful looking day here in Brisbane, but my heart is heavy and it just doesn’t feel appropriate today to share.
I was having lunch yesterday with a friend, and we discussing the usual societal ills, and I reflected how I don’t understand how we’re not angry all the time. 1/3

* Last night I watched the Manben episode with Takimi Nagayasu, and he was drawing a character with a hood, and I recently read Rose, and haven’t put that away yet, so more hoods. So I don’t know if those connections happened because of that, but either way, I’m grateful to my brain for making it.

I love my brain. I didn’t know what I was doing for the next page, so I just did a doodle, letting the pencil move, and did this abstract shape. But something made me think it looked like a hood*, and the rest of the page flowed from there.

I find it interesting that Tarantino fears of sullying his legacy by making bad films later in life is instead being usurped by him opening his mouth. If he kept making films, that would be the conversation. How do you know he’s not a real filmmaker? Because he’s not making films.

Really interesting to consider. As a "hobbyist" cartoonist, it doesn’t really matter if I move onto another comic without finishing the current one, I owe no one a finished comic. I’m free to do whatever my creative whims lead me.
