Regular reminder to support and shop small and local ✊! Amazon doesn't need another cold billion, but your friends, family, and neighbors can use all the sales and support they/we can get! Pweez 🥺👉👈.

P.S. repost for good karma 😜🙌.

@comaps.app are there ways openstreetmaps/comaps could integrate with the ATprotocol that powers Bluesky?

I feel like one use case would be to help make sure commercial spaces have up to date information, perhaps connected to their PDS (Bluesky account). @atproto.com

@grapheneos.org Is there a way to add a custom search engine provider to Vanadium? I would like to be able to search via @kagi.com in the address bar.

Developers! A few of us in the API Discord have decided to begin working on an ATProto Wiki to keep an index of all things Atmosphere that might not be covered in the technical docs. It's still very much a WIP, but if you'd like to help, please do!

We're planning on moving to atproto.wiki soon :)

Every time I hear about how the ATmosphere isn't decentralized enough... and then I see things like Laurens' regular newsletter showing how much non-Bluesky PBC development of incredibly cool stuff is happening... (this is just a snippet, full newsletter has more):

I hear *someone* is having a sale next week.

I guess they have to try and recoup some of that $2.5 billion they’re forking over for *checks notes* being deceptive? Who would’ve thought?

Feels like Oct 7 & 8 will be prime days to support independent bookstores. 😌

Labor productivity has more than doubled since the late 1960s. But workers’ compensation has barely budged.

Yes. The economy is rigged in favor of the wealthy.

We might feel a LITTLE bit strongly about the importance of libraries. Luckily, there’s a week for that! Now’s time to yell about your love for libraries from the rooftops. Tell your friends to get a QLL membership (or donate if ya can!)

We have a long way to go as a species to unlearn whatever propaganda convinced us that civilian men dying during "conflict" is acceptable because they're "military aged". They're just people. People who wanted to live lives the same as any of us. Murdered by states who kill indiscriminately.

A tricky thing about modern society is that no one has any idea when they don’t die.

Like, the number of lives saved by controlling air pollution in America is probably over 200,000 per year, but the number of people who think their life was saved by controlling air pollution is zero.

"Oh, we can't let the government shut down. Oh, anything but a shutdown."

Y'all... have we tried turning this bitch off and back on? Maybe we need a shutdown. Maybe we seize the same moment for a general strike too.

Just saying.
