Your 'doom quote' for today:

"Earth is now warmer than at any time in the Holocene, the past 11,700 years of relatively stable climate in which civilization developed, and it is at least as warm as during the extreme warm Eemian interglacial period 120,000 years ago."
Global Warming Has Accelerated: Are the United Nations and the Public Well-Informed?
Global temperature leaped more than 0.4°C (0.7°F) during the past two years, the 12-month average peaking in August 2024 at +1.6°C relative to the temperature at the beginning of last century (the ...

What do these corporations all have in common?

-Lockheed Martin
-Palantir
-Microsoft
-Amazon
-Comcast
-Google
-Apple
-Meta
-HP
-Nvidia
-T-Mobile

They all have lucrative government contracts — and they're all donors to Trump's $400M ballroom.

This stuff is so crazy. Trump is now just letting his allies that helped him nearly overthrow the government take turns stealing taxpayer money.

Playing us all for suckers. The corruption of this regime will leave an indelible mark on our nation. 🇺🇸 www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

Beshear: Let me be clear. The president has both the funding and the authority to fund snap during a shutdown. In fact, every other president in every other shutdown has done so. People going hungry in this instance is a choice that this president has made.

15 Republican senators have now joined all 47 members of the Democratic caucus on legislation to extend SNAP benefits during the shutdown.

In all, 62 senators are on this bill.

I say to Majority Leader Thune: Don't let kids go hungry in America. Call a vote on this bill NOW!

That’s easy, the great Republican Teddy Roosevelt refuted you in 1918:

“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
Johnson: “They're going to descend on our capital for their much-anticipated so-called ‘No Kings’ rally. We refer to it by its more accurate description: 'The Hate America' rally. I'm not sure how anybody can refute that."

Democrats should really be pushing this message. Or, find any law that the GOP doesn’t like and say it’s like Dems sending In the military to arrest individuals there that are violating that law.
Gov. Jared Polis: "If you're a Republican, imagine it was President Biden sending troops into your Republican states to enforce DEI...Imagine for a moment how you would feel. That's how Democratic governors feel with federal troops invading their own cities."

This is the correct answer.
Chris Murphy: "This is a country that's falling apart because Trump is in the middle of an authoritarian takeover. We're not on the verge of an authoritarian takeover. We're in the middle of it ... I have no moral obligation to vote for a budget that literally funds the destruction of our democracy"
