DO NOT OPT IN TO THE INSTAGRAM MAP FEATURE. It has better location pinpointing than ANY snapchat map i have seen. You can access it from DMs with a person if it’s enabled and open a map directly to show where they are. In the larger map you can zoom so it shows you street names and landmarks and publicly recognizable buildings near you and constantly updates by the minute. It is really alarming. Turn off location privileges for the app! If you’re traveling with someone who is hiding their location and post a photo with someone and tag them, it will make it easier for someone to find you together. Turn it off on your kids phones and your parents phones and your phones. Turn. The. Shit. Off. Now. Share this post with friends for security.

I’m seeing a lot of soft takes from industry mutuals at the moment that we shouldn’t be so hard on those who use generative AI because it’s becoming harder and harder to resist.
Wrong. Betraying your ethics (and your peers) because ‘everyone else is doing it’ does not suddenly make it acceptable.
