There’s going to be lots of takes on why Zohran won…my 2 cents as an Indian American was that it was incredibly refreshing to see an Indian American politician not hide from his Indian-ness. Instead he posted a video in Hindi full of classic Bollywood references youtu.be/NFGk6PtoBdw?...

The Times questioning Zohran’s experience kinda just boils down to ideology & racism but the idea of 33 being too young to hold a major political office is so funny. If he was a CEO of a startup that produced something worse than nothing they’d write a glowing feature on his new bold ideas.

I saw Materialists yesterday and loved it - I can't help but feel like a lot of the people who dislike it are having a "I'm in this movie and I don't like it" reaction
found the women on TikTok angry at Materialists for how the love triangle resolves, and they’re really making the case for just how real Materialists is

Why is germ theory in the same air quotes as "miasma theory," I ask as a historian of medicine who is very very tired

Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. apparently embraces the outdated "miasma theory" of disease instead of the widely accept "germ theory" of disease, which may help explain some of the actions he's been taking.

Trump has taken away $26 million in funding already allocated for a Black Alabama community to fix their raw sewage problem. He called it "illegal DEI".

Please remember that when this regime says they are "doing away with DEI" what they mean is they are instituting white supremacy.

Thurmond was the same age as Booker when he set the record Senator Cory Booker just broke.

Thurmond was afforded a bathroom break and read from the encyclopedia. Booker held the floor the entire time and delivered a consistent, cogent speech for more than 24 hours.

Incredible.

Sen. Booker’s speech was a substantive and moral account of this moment. He did not read the phone book. He did not babble.
For 24 hours @booker.senate.gov laid out a detailed, damning, and critical narrative of truth, history, politics, morality, humanity.

What will you do?
