This is correct. My professional expertise is communications and digital strategy AND I currently support a federal agency under attack rn.
Do my clients sometimes do not a great job explaining their value? Yes. Does that matter when you have bad actors completely distorting reality? No.

You hear this a lot on the left but it isn't true. USAID did not "fail to tell its story to Americans," the right targeted the agency with lies and misinformation.
Ultimately this narrative turns conservative attacks into even more calls for the left to reform.

Blaming the agencies for being cut is ridiculous and ignores the fact that half of the US public is bathing in echo chambers of misinformation.
There is nothing any one of these agencies could have said to prevent DOGE from destroying them to cheering mobs.

We're hearing that Foreign Service Nationals (FSNs--local staff hired by USAID in country) received Reduction in Force (RIF--essentially termination) notices today. FSNs are at the heart of our Missions' work. Our hearts are breaking. 💔

I feel like 20-30 years ago the commercials were much more consistently funny, but they’ve mostly degraded to strings of cameos and overbudgeted nonsense meant to convince C-suites that they’re pulling out all the stops
Super Bowl commercials are never actually funny but they seem like they should be funny because they are very expensive
