Like the Tories, the Labour government is trying to drive down the number of people who qualify for disability benefits by insisting there has been an epidemic of “overdiagnosis”: a favourite theme of the BBC and the junktanks of Tufton Street. Never mind the science: what outcome do we want?

So many of these controversies rely on the company doing crisis pr that fuels the flames of the controversy further. Turns out if you just grey rock it, they get bored and move on. It's difficult to sustain that level of outrage longer than a few days.

Libs of Tiktok, Elon Musk, and Robbie Starbuck put everything they had into trying to push a boycott of Netflix over LGBTQ characters in their shows.

Netflix ignored them and the stock is back up. Turns out bots don't actually cancel accounts.

⚠️The NHS once protected us.

Now, millions of Clinically Vulnerable people are being told we don’t qualify for a Covid vaccine - even as new variants spread.

This is a dangerous, preventable mistake.

NHS flu jab clinic yesterday.
Many of us were kicked off the Covid jab list this year.
Nurse: "Yes, a lot of people are upset about that."

This is a public health fail.

It is but currently with COVID being airborne it’s very unsafe for the 13 million clinically vulnerable patients the government hasn’t vaccinated. We can’t continue to treat people like this without our NHS being overwhelmed. This government doesn’t care about patient safety.

Government believes that simply attaching the words 'online', 'digital' or 'virtual' to any NHS problem instantly solves it, those actually working within the NHS know that the opposite applies

This is to me the most baffling aspect. Who would place a bet that the next three years won't feature some terrible horror in the US from the outfit that Badenoch and Jenrick specifically say they want to copy? bsky.app/profile/smka...

This is an amazing show - an original art form I would call dance theatre. I saw it previously and it is now at a theatre in Barnes 8-11 October. Definitely recommend!

I rather suspect that the move from a regular flow of people between the UK and EU to people only coming for specific jobs or settling will also have raised costs significantly in hospitality. And was arguably politically linked to a rising minimum wage.

The PCR positivity map is out, and it's evident that everywhere is seeing a significant surge.

UKHSA positivity has risen to 11.83%.

Adjusted for non-reporting areas, we make that 13.77%.
