I quilted the layers of the brim together and it did get much stiffer. I'm going to bind the edge—I already sewed up the seam on the point lining, plus I also quilted that, so I figured I'd try bias binding for the first time.

Not bad! They're not the kind of pine cones that spread open very wide. I'd do it again but with 3 rows/circles/layers/whatever instead of 2 (i.e., not get my form at Dollar Tree, LOL).

Some years ago I made a block for Project 70273 & also finished a quilt from a stack of blocks. Later I signed up for data entry, which led to designing the spreadsheet that they still use to track everything. The coordinator wants previous volunteers to make blocks for the same quilt—this is mine.

The Huz was like, "We couldn't give him a life nearly this good." I don't want a cat but, uh, I think a friendly beach cat would be fine getting fed regularly and having a soft bed.

We narrowly missed getting snagged by the Cat Distribution System this morning but Monty Gato here didn't follow us off the beach. He did pee in The Huz's deep footprint (and then covered it, LOL) and bat around a wee sand crab while strolling with us.

This morning's error was not wearing a bathing suit for our beach walk because I missed a chance to swim in a tide pool.

I think it's light enough to go for a walk even though sunrise isn't for another half hour.

Dinner on the beach too! Palo is a few doors down from Uma's—we drove this time. There were surfers in the water until well after dark.

Walked on Paseo Lineal to its eastern terminus from Playa Montones, then back to the other end for breakfast at Uma's, then back* to the starting point. Starting just before sunrise was the right move.

*only The Huz did that last part, to get the car and pick me up because I had blisters on my feet

I took these yesterday because I was thinking of your post but the day was overcast. I should've taken another shot today in the sun but here we are. I like when the leaves change too.
