Smith: We had also interviewed Boris Epshteyn… He corroborated that they were, in fact, trying to call senators. He dissembled and tried to imply that the president hadn’t directed him to do it, even though there was a text message saying specifically that they had.

Question: But the president’s statements that he believed the election was rife with fraud—those are statements protected by the First Amendment, correct?

Smith: Absolutely not. If they are made to target a lawful government function and are made with knowing falsity, then no, they are not.

Smith: I think who should be accountable for this is Donald Trump. These records exist because, in the case of the senators, Donald Trump directed his co-conspirators to call these people to further delay the proceedings. He chose to do that.

Democrats yesterday won the final special election of 2025, in Iowa: Their nominee defended a state Senate district by 43%. Harris had won it by 17% last year.

This win means Dems prevent the GOP from gaining a supermajority; the GOP lost the supermajority earlier this year.

We’ve long known the federalization of the Cal Guard is illegal.

This admission by Trump and his occult cabinet members means this illegal intimidation tactic will finally come to an end.

We look forward to the Ninth Circuit officially ruling — returning
the Cal Guard to state service.

This latest reporting shows Bondi, Blanche, and others at the DOJ have been lying to the American people about the Epstein files since day one.

The less than 40,000 pages that have been released represent less than 0.01% of all the total documents.

They are hiding something.

So I saw that story that DOGE cancelled Adobe Acrobat for DOJ and that's why we could copy/paste to un-redact that one Epstein document. But I did some research and it's not true. The cost cutting package from this past May included Acrobat Premium, which has the redaction/sanitize function. 1/

Yes, I also agree with this point. The base conflates them all with “criminals” but often makes individualized exceptions (like the Trump voters shocked their spouses, and friends are now being rounded up). Many swing voters who went for Trump, by contrast, thought “mass deportation” was narrower.
I think two things were true:

The base wanted mass deportation of immigrants.

But they were also being sold the lie that immigrant equaled criminal, which is why you'd want them all gone. What they are discovering now is how much that myth about immigrants isn't true.

I think that is a very fair critique to my point, and perhaps you’re right that I shouldn’t say majority. But I also see the propaganda they are putting out every day that continues to press the criminality angle, in part because I think if they came right out and said it they’d lose more support.
Low information independents were misled. But the Republican base knew what they were getting, and now that they see what they got, 92% are happy with it.

You have to base your analyses in actual data.
