It’s often when you have the fewest seconds to reach the Metro before it leaves that you find a puddle, a sunrise, and a tree all in the same view. But you have no choice. Freewill is an illusion.

I'll be talking this afternoon about challenges in interpreting and making fair comparisons of sea ice age between climate models and observations, and demonstrating one way to resolve this using a common definition of sea ice age (paper out soon).

So scarry - loss up to 30cm/year water is a lot 😱

Climate change is fast shrinking the world’s largest inland sea - the Caspian Sea

Climate change driving water loss up to 30cm/year

Up to 112,000 km² of seabed could be exposed — >5x size of Wales

A climate disaster in slow motion…

"There was still sea ice, of course, but our vessel had little trouble navigating through it, thanks to open leads and channels. That’s what struck me most: the ease of access through what used to be a far more ice-covered region,” Knies writes.

The Green Party in Norway is offering a progressive future, with a strong Green voice that will:
❌ Phase out fossil fuels
🌳 Protect nature
🏠 Fight poverty on a local, national and international level.

💚 Good luck to @mdg.no!
🗳️And to our friends in Norway: go and vote on 8 September.
3 pilars for a greener future:

Phase out fossil fuels:
Today, Norway is one of the world’s biggest fossil fuels producer. Transitioning to renewable energies will make Norway’s economy more sustainable.

Protect nature:
With forestand biodiversity disappearing fast, Norway’s immense beauty needs to be protected.

Fight poverty:
The number of people in poverty is rising. We need to tax the rich and ensure a guaranteed minimum income for those with less.
Norway, go vote for your future!

Foto: Shin Sugiyama/ HU Sapporo.
