Maybe it’s because I first heard the Venezuelan news yesterday by turning on the radio while Trump was talking to the press about it, but it is fully bizarre to me how the media is responding. Our president very clearly said we invaded and kidnapped their president to get our hands on their oil.

As a regulator - most companies won’t risk getting caught in an outright lie but they will tell you technically not completely false but misleading and incomplete stuff all day long. I specialize in spotting these elaborate death traps!
As an aside: in my opinion, it's actually *more* dishonest to construct a rationale by which your word can be constructed as having been technically true than it is to just say something and not mean it. The latter is killing a dude; the former is an elaborate Saw-style deathtrap.

the receipts here are completely thrilling to me, as a connoisseur of actual product research (Wirecutter alum), but also it's very sad what's happening to sites that cuts through the bullshit online, and that Google has no handle on things at all housefresh.com/david-vs-dig...
How Google is killing independent sites like ours - HouseFresh
And why you shouldn’t trust product reviews from big media publishers ranking at the top of Google.

Waiting for the key machine at Lowe's. This dude in front of me has made at least 10 keys. He is resolutely not looking behind him. Trying and failing to invent his backstory.

Remembering the time a week after Dobbs when some dude on NPR was like "sure, people are riled up now but who knows if they'll still care when it's time to vote"
