that's actually not what she said, though. she said she wants to cover every topic on the list and doesn't want to get bogged down with "made up" follow up questions. which is actually a defensible position! but it shouldn't have broken down to that point

No, that's not what happened. She gets indignant for the reporter for *not* asking more of the prepared questions and instead focusing on one topic for too long

she got caught on a bad answer and went petty instead of dodging out of it

I think she was probably fine to end the interview but did a very poor job explaining coherently the justification for ending the interview. the question was trash and "do you need the votes of the 40% of Californians who voted for Donald Trump?" "No." didn't need that follow up.

i mean based on the reports i would've expected something much much worse, i feel like there's missing context here

but even so, you need to have a better deflection than that. she actually laid out a decent case for why in the 2nd answer, but once she puts her hands up and gets annoyed it's a mess

so i watched it back again and it was basically fine until she ended the interview and got super defensive. it's not completely damning, the reporter *was* being annoying. but also like that's something you need to navigate artfully if you want to be the leader of the world's 4th largest economy
