The hallmark of an open mind is refusing to let your ideas become your identity.

If you define yourself by your opinions, questioning them is a threat to your integrity.

If you see yourself as a curious person or a lifelong learner, changing your mind is a moment of growth.

There are always human stories behind the statistics, so I am really keen to speak to teachers, leaders and support staff who have struggled with their wellbeing who would be willing to talk about their experiences. This can be anonymous. My messages are open
Some horrible stats in this @edsupportuk.bsky.social report

84% of leaders and 78% of teachers stressed

77% of workforce reports psychological or behavioural symptoms due to their work

Majority report increase in poor behaviour and vexatious parental complaints

Just want to say teachers - you are amazing! My daughter is dealing with some significant health issues and her head of year is the best & helping us both so much. My son is loving Maths and FM A level and I got a gorgeous email from his teacher about how well he is doing.

I appreciate you 😍

There is some good news though

Overall wellbeing score is up a bit, small decrease in staff reporting mental health issues and lower proportion reporting negative effects of workplace culture

But leader stress remains ‘chronic and acute’
