Sometimes I write funny things about cricket. Sometimes I have deep thoughts about Doctor Who. Most of the time though, I shitpost.
Been watching some Ashes Cricket and wondering what Marnus Labuschagne has been thinking about everything? Then worry no longer, because he's been sending me his Diaries, which I'm now sending to you, free of charge!

Posted a thing on my Substack as a little preview of my Ashes shitposting. There'll be cricket jokes, Steve Smith jokes, Ashes jokes, Bazball jokes, and just some basic joke jokes. It'll be great. Hopefully.

I will happily watch three seasons of a popular sitcom about the two Chicago popes.
Mar Awa III, patriarch of the Assyrian Church of the East, also born in Chicago, gave Pope Leo a Cubs jersey.

Me: Yeah, I’m pretty keen for the new Doctor Who episode, but, y’know, gotta be patient I guess.

Also Me: <constantly checking Disney+ to see if they accidentally uploaded it early by mistake>

Amidst all of the tragic beauty in the Andor finale, one of the things that really stood put to me was the production generously letting us have one last “you haven’t been talking to the rebels have you mate“ scene from Ben Mendelsohn. Perfect television.

Still going through elderly relative’s stuff after her passing last week. Found a vintage short story called “The Queerest Christmas Of All!”. Quote: “as she moved her hands across the organ, she began to worry that nobody would be coming today”

An beloved elderly family member died in this past week. Highlight from her funeral planning: the quote “I really love this photo, you can barely tell that she’s in hospital”

Just popped up some 3 year old gags about Sheffield Shield cricket on my Substack for those interested. Click below for a trip to strange days where Travis Head was seen as a relatively disappointing Australian batter, Usman Khawaja's international career was over, and the Redbacks lost everything.
Retro Post: The Great Flood of Ian Healy Oval
Hey folks, Well, another test match is done and dusted. Travis Head made a hundred, Josh Hazlewood took nine wickets, and Australian cricket fans found a new debutant to pour all their love over (we l...

Just posted on my Substack the last in the current run of the Steve Smith Diary Updates, looking at David Warner's last tests. There's existential crises, cameos galore, and a sequence where David Warner gets covered in boiling hot gravy. It's basically perfect.
Steve Smith Diaries - The Last Ballad of Davey Warner
Hi all! Here’s the latest set of Steve Smith Diary Updates looking at the recent Pakistan tests and David Warner dealing with his own mortality. Fun stuff, I’m sure you can agree. But there’s al...

One of the few Doctor Who fans to be quite happy with the Celestial Toymaker animation, because it looks quite similar to what I imagined the story to look like when I was a kid. That said, if a child read the Celestial Toymaker novelisation and imagined this, I’d honestly be quite worried for them.

Over the last T20I cricket series against India, I wrote a series of comments on Reddit where I pretended to be Steve Smith and told a story about how they had to find a very drunk Travis Head in the streets of India. Link to the omnibus edition below:
The Steve Smith Diaries - The Lost Trav
Hi all! Well, a lot’s happened since I last pulled up Substack. Australia won the Cricket World Cup, which was nice. We also lost the IDFC T20 series against India, which was honestly fine, because ...
