I'm pretty sure you don't because I sure do remember dashing to my death about a billion times in HK. Regardless the movement mechanics and map design in Silksong I really do love; honestly my only big sticking point is super unfun boss and gauntlet design.

I almost feel like they spread things too thin as far as quality fights go because they wanted more bosses. When they hit they really hit, and honestly the game could have nixed or modified 7-10 of the fights and it would have been better for it.

That difference being few (Blasphemous) if any (Tunic, Nine Sols) of the encounters in those games felt bullshit. They had a rhythm, a technique, something. Feels like every other gauntlet or boss encounter in Skong boils down to "spam finite tool resources and good luck!". Less is more.

Love a lot of the game but some decisions and design choices TC made are astonishingly poorly thought out and I genuinely don't get the vision, like. At all. I love games that kick my ass (Nine Sols, Tunic, and Blasphemous, for example) but they all have a major difference.

I actually think it's astounding how Silksong has somehow managed to have some of the most intricate, exciting, and challenging boss fights I've ever played while also having some of the most RNG dependent, poorly designed, and frankly infuriating boss fights I've ever experienced.
