I've wondered about something similar with audio to bypass content ID, so you wouldn't have to remove music while you play but it wouldn't show up in the stream/recording
You could do some *really* neat stuff with outputting different video though

I see "Kenneth Branagh's Frankenstein on the Sega CD" and I immediately think some kind of FMV thing but no, this is so much better
Honestly something about the production design in GDT's made me *really* want a mid-2000s pre-rendered point and click adventure. There is a Vibe

I'm playing Fatal Frame 4 right now. It isn't *bad*, but I disagree with a lot of the choices it made
But at least those choices were made by real people with real intent. There's something to analyze and learn from
What is there to interrogate with AI? Stolen source material and a dice roll?

Plus something about crediting the first *two* major well known games in a style feels odd to me? It's why soulsborne feels more awkward than soulslike, and wolfendoom is just downright goofy

Yup. Subgenres named after specific references aren't ideal but I'm not opposed to it. Sometimes they're unavoidable. I have no idea what else we're supposed to call soulslikes or roguelikes
But we already have self contained alternatives for this one. Search-action/unlocking-world are right there

Purely as a joke I guess it's *kind of* a cute term. But there's no way I'd ever actually use it. I'm not even all that big a fan of calling search-action games Metroidvanias in the first place

Replaying Metroid Prime 3 before Beyond drops, and working my way through Fatal Frame 4 since I finished the PS2 games
