People are SICK OF THIS SHIT. So many people. So sick. Of so much shit.

Nothing is a distraction. Everything is one person's last straw. The people most sensitive to changing vibes--politicians and right-wing grifters--have started acting like the tide is turning.

BE THE TIDE, Y'ALL.
Hope is not lost. People are sick of this shit.

Keep going. We can do this.

Dear senators who think you can’t do anything,

Today, Senator Van Hollen - through diplomatic pressure - got a meeting with Abrego Garcia in El Salvador. So that thing you’re thinking about doing? DO IT.

I don't really care what the "political consequences" are of fighting for the proposition that *everyone* is entitled to due process before they are removed from the United States and sent to a Salvadoran prison.

It's not really a principle if you only adhere to it when it's politically expedient.

I went to El Salvador hoping to meet with Kilmar and check on his well-being, and I had the chance to do that last night.

Our courts have been clear: this was an ILLEGAL abduction. I’m speaking now about my meeting with Kilmar and our work to bring him home:

I find myself getting sincerely emotional about this. That he’s, under the circumstances, okay. That his wife and kids know this after an agonizing month without him. That a Democratic politician cared enough to go and see him, even after getting told no at first. Trying matters. Fighting works.
I said my main goal of this trip was to meet with Kilmar. Tonight I had that chance. I have called his wife, Jennifer, to pass along his message of love. I look forward to providing a full update upon my return.

let’s look back at what has happened so far

Cory Booker giving a 25 hour speech: everyone loved it, raised his profile

Van Hollen flies to El Salvador and meets Abrego Garcia: everyone loved it, raised his profile

Schumer publicly caved: everyone hated that

just a general note to Dems
i have no doubt that senator van hollen was genuinely concerned for the safety and welfare of abrego garcia BUT ALSO this is what i'm talking about when i say POLITICAL AMBITION. van hollen may well make himself a household name and nationally recognized political figure with this move

CHEST should let Ed Martin know that the cavity he should stick it in is not within their remit.
