'Cringe' is "embarrassment".

Embarrassment is "Feeling self-conscious due to some event or circumstance"

Y'all. If you feel cringe, get you some self confidence! You are too awesome to be embarrassed!

If you call someone cringe, quit being a douche and go hype someone you love!

The White Star Line stopped its employees' wages the moment the Titanic sank.

Further atrocity, if a body was found and a family wanted a plot burial, they were required to purchase two first class rail tickets for transport. One for the escort, one for the corpse.

It always amazes how many times white people will come at me sideways and then act like the victim when I give them the same energy
One of the ways your racism is manifesting as a white person that you probably don't notice is that you have horrible manners with Black people. You have a terrible attitude when you meet real Black people. You don't say excuse me & can barely look them in the eye. That's over 80% of white people.

Woman at BiMart sees me walking all the way across from the end of the lot and asks why I didn’t park closer (I had been shopping next door and had to come back across) and I said “some people walk in the rain, others just get wet” and left it.

Pro tip I accidentally discovered: Get the shots late morning and clear your schedule for the evening.

When you start to feel like a truck is barreling into your face in slow motion, around 9pm or so, go to bed.

Did this with both Shingles shots and it was fine. Don’t skip the vax!
All over my FB people talking about their bad experiences with shingles vax and dissuading each other from getting it! We need to give people real info on how to mitigate the symtoms caused by vaccines because vaccines are always better than meeting a virus unprepared. Yet drs aren't coaching ppl

This isn’t really news since it happened a while ago but I never really figured out a good (?) time/way to share the information.

I was thinking of making a YouTube video but talking about it felt weird.

Anyway I spent about $5000 buying David Lynch’s dinner plates this summer.

Reminder that not only do library systems have physical media (& many also lend tools, electronics etc), your library card may give you access to streamers Kanopy and Hoopla. We just watched Francis Ford Coppola’s adaptation of The Rainmaker via a hoopla the other night. Pretty good!
“As prices for streaming subscriptions continue to soar and finding movies to watch, new and old, is becoming harder as the number of streaming services continues to grow, people are turning to the unexpected last stronghold of physical media: the public library.”

Special Honorable Mention to the History course that used a Primary Sources-oriented textbook, leading to things like READING the Code of Hammurabi ("Throw them in the river!"), or courtroom transcripts from Joan of Arc, etc.
As a Physics Major turned Math Graduate, my two favorite college courses were a Psychopharmacology class where I was the only NON-Pre-Med, and a Poetry class taught by Poet Laureate and Auden's bestie, Sir Stephen Spender.

THAT is what college is about.
This is actually a good example of why the customer model is wrong.

I wouldn't have chosen poetry writing, but UNC made me take a class. And it absolutely made me become a much better writer, with an eye to concision and an ear now trained to the rhythm of words. I'm a better historian as a result.
