"Right now, if one of my students came to me and said, 'Hey, as part of my Ph.D. I want to enter the world's birds into a dataset,' I'm like, 'No, you're not doing that. You'll never finish your Ph.D.' "

Too true omg 😂

Anyway, this is a very exciting dataset!

A job ad with multiple images, including the exterior of the museum, a view of collections (jars on shelves), and pictures of some cool, tropical fish but I don't know enough about fish to describe them other than to say they're pretty colors of yellow and blue/green

In the early 1980’s, we began preparing separate spread wings to help illustrate features of birds that had never been accurately drawn.

Today our collection of spread wings is the largest in the world, preserving more than 40,000 specimens.

We finally got to see the hardcopies of ‘Nature Selecting’ the #evolution book I wrote for kids (around 6th grade level and up) and illustrated by my 14 year-old daughter Anjali

Free pdf here www.lsu.edu/mns/news-and...

We plan to send hard copies to local schools and teachers for free.
