Writer, wife, mother, policy nerd. Can't help it, I was born that way. Just the facts please...they don't lie.
Shame on every single one of them. They don’t deserve this country and we don’t deserve their disrespect.
We all have a right to be angry at GOP voters -- that almost goes without saying. But I still maintain a special reserve of vitriol for people who can't be bothered to vote at all. They, by themselves, could have prevented this. They, by themselves, can stop this whenever they want to.

Always the victim. Poor Donald.
Trump to Davos: "Without us, right now you'd all be speaking German and a little Japanese perhaps. After the war, we gave Greenland back to Denmark. How stupid were we to do that? But we did it. But how ungrateful are they now?"

We have a method to dislodge an insane president, but Mitch McConnell wouldn’t let us use it. Sigh.

GOP talking points keep returning to “we’re getting rid of dangerous people, and protesters are impeding us”, but few are fooled by this pretext. Very few illegal immigrants are dangerous. Even some who support stricter deportation object to the federal response. It’s no longer about immigration.

While I mourn the loss of America's stature in recent years, I applaud our allies' dignity & strength in getting on with things. They are the good guys in this moment. They are demonstrating the values we once held dear.
Trump has been doing a lot to weaken the US and facilitate China's rise in his second term, but he did in term 1 too.

First thing Trump did in office was cancel the TPP, promising "better" 1-on-1 deals and getting none. Effectively flipped a smart China containment strategy into US containment.
The Canada-China relationship has been distant and uncertain for nearly a decade.

We’re changing that, with a new strategic partnership that benefits the people of both our nations.

Nobody likes a cynic, but I'm suspicious this isn't a Dem/Republican thing. I suspect it's a powerful, wealthy (probably white) man thing. You're not going to get this info under a president of either banner. Why? Because these types of men won't give up their own. Not now. Not 100 years from now.
.@PabloReports: Is electing Democrats basically the only way that the American people are ever going to see the other 99% of the Epstein files?

Khanna: When we have a Democratic president, we’re going to get all the files, but Massie and I are not giving up…

Absolutely a lie.

CBS Reports: The ICE agent who fatally shot Renee Good suffered internal bleeding to the torso following the incident, according to two U.S. officials briefed on his medical condition.

WITNESSES: He’s fine! He’s walking.

NOEM: You can’t see his injuries bc they’re internal.

Delusional liar. Strike that - not delusional, just bald-faced liar.
Vance: "Why have rents gone down for 4 consecutive months? Because we're starting to get those illegal aliens out of the USA. Those criminals, those gang members, those people that are taking homes that ought by right go the people in this room. It's simple economics."

"...we're leveling the playing field..." He's talking (dreaming?) about getting rid of Dodd-Frank. DF protects against another Lehman Brothers that famously collapsed in 2008 triggering the Great Recession. Who is he leveling the playing field for? Hint: not the bottom 99% who will pay the bill.
Republicans are going to do it to us again. bsky.app/profile/atru...
Bessent: "These 2008, 2009, 2010 financial rules were too tight. They hamstrung the American financial system. It was time for a change ... we have to take the financial system out of this straitjacket ... the regulated system is too constrained."

In January, Donald Trump looked me in the eye on the tarmac, promising Angelenos that he'd help rebuild after the firestorms.

11 months later, he still hasn't delivered.

That's why I'm headed to D.C. to push for a long-overdue federal aid package for survivors.

Social programs like Social Security should only be financed by tax dollars. Rich donors shouldn't have any ownership in them, which is to say they shouldn't have any say or sway at all - other than through their elected representatives, just like the rest of us.

This is a big deal. Low wage jobs mean even those employed full time need SNAP benefits. The “get a job” crowd doesn’t have a clue.
At a time when the food-stamp system is under fire & more strict work requirements are starting to kick in, a review of companies with the most SNAP recipients in the state shows many are employed by high-profile companies in retail, health care & the gig economy. www.bostonglobe.com/2025/11/28/m...
‘The government is subsidizing corporate profits’: Who employs the most SNAP recipients in Massachusetts? - The Boston Globe
In Massachusetts, 74 percent of working-age SNAP recipients have jobs.
