Yesterday, Spc Sarah Becstrom was laid to rest in West Virginia at a VA National Cemetery.
Surprisingly none of the major major news media mention it. No flags were lower to half staff.
Well the Convicted FElon keeps the news focus on him.

The discharge petition to force a vote on the Epstein Files only received a handful of GOP votes.

But when we get the actual vote to release them, I'm presuming we'll see a whole lot more, right?

"Congressman _____ voted against releasing the Epstein Files" isn't an ad you want before the midterms

The unfortunately named Midelfart is the young woman Epstein says he “gave” to Trump. Excuse me while my lunch returns unexpectedly.

Really wild how all these Harvard scientists and mathematics guys constantly talked about how Jeffrey Epstein was this brilliant, "misunderstood" man and then you read his emails and he's clearly a barely literate lecher, extremely easy to understand

My god (sorry I’m late on a bunch of this stuff. But wow!)

According to this NYT report, the head of the FBI and the Attorney General are holding meetings *in the Situation Room* with GOP lawmakers they are trying to pressure to rescind their votes to release the Epstein info. This is madness.

This is what I try to always tell people: food banks can do way more with your money than you can, due to bulk buying deals. And they can do way, way more with your money than with the canned goods you didn’t want to eat
spoke with the executive director of my local food bank today and got this really incredible line: "if you donate 1 can of green beans, we can give away 1 can of green beans. but if you donate a dollar, we can give away 6 cans of green beans"

Note: This is me — I asked this question.

You’ll hear me say “yes you have” here — because Johnson was already *directly asked* about one of these instances (when the Presbyterian minister was shot in the head with a pepper ball) in one of earlier shutdown press conferences.
Q: Just last week a minister was shot directly in the face with a pepper round by a DHS agent that left his face bloodied. Are you concerned that this is a religious freedom issue?

MIKE JOHNSON: I can't comment on any of those instances. I haven't seen or heard any of those videos

I always get drawn back to Al Gore telling voters that he’d only raise taxes on the top 1% and then after the election a poll showed that something like 20% of voters thought they were in the top 1% and another 20% thought they would be in the next five years. Just a total tragic disconnect.
Maaaaan, this. So much this. Every time there's any kind of actual in-depth survey we find that the American people are *abysmally* ignorant about even the most basic political facts, but the pundit class just immediately forgets & proceeds with political analysis based on subtle policy differences.
Feels like so many of our convos are revolving about how voters respond to what politicians are doing, or what parties’ positions on issues are, without much actual empirical sense of what they actually know about those topics.

They threw him to the ground as a Combat Vet shopping there calls the police on them! There was no warrant and he was a citizen.

“Capitalism gives everyone a chance to succeed!”

Capitalism is impossible without inequity.

It’s “free market, free enterprise” until you try to raise the minimum wage. Then it’s about “merit.”

Capitalism doesn’t work because it doesn’t work for everyone, by design.

Someone is always left out.

It’s wild how much whiteness wants credit for putting out fires it started.

Black people are told to be thankful to white people for “saving” us from slavery they created.

US presidents boast about ceasefire deals for conflicts they funded with tax money.

Whiteness isn’t water. It’s Kerosene.
