What makes me sad is that Kat Abughazaleh is saying, "I will earn your vote by being actually useful," and as someone who's followed politics since the 90s, this feels very refreshing to me, because almost no one else does this.
I want to run a campaign that makes people ask their representatives, “Why aren’t you doing that?”

If you’re asking for someone’s vote, you need to earn it!
It’s SUCH a wonderful action to take because not only is it doing meaningful immediate good, it highlights that politicians could have been doing stuff like this the whole time, but instead have poured all of that money into utterly ineffective consultants who serve the wealthy.

Our Thanksgiving tradition is to listen to ‘Alice’s Restaurant’ on our drive—what a bummer.
Alice Brock, whose Massachusetts diner was immortalized in Arlo Guthrie’s 1967 song “Alice’s Restaurant,” died on Thursday — just a week before Thanksgiving, the holiday during which the story at the center of the song takes place. She was 83.
Alice Brock, Restaurant Owner Made Famous by a Song, Dies at 83
Arlo Guthrie’s antiwar staple “Alice’s Restaurant” was inspired by a Thanksgiving Day visit to her diner in western Massachusetts.
